I'm SO GLAD you guys had such a great time! Of course we knew you were going to, but it really seems like this was an extra magical night. I can't remember the last time (if ever?) he asked people to come up on stage with him! What a treat!

Thanks for sharing all the lovely details!

I thought I'd make a video so eva could brag to everyone she knows and show them it!

If either of the two parties I robbed content off care I'll take the video down straight away

LOL that's great!! I actually have a vid of Insane, but the quality isn't good. I started recording a few seconds too late, I was a bit in shock LOL and then I cut it as soon as he finished cos I didn't thought he would comment on it.

allison (handmaid) recorded it also, maybe she got a better vid.

I also have 9 crimes complete, childish with intro, a bit of volcano with intro, and a bit of cheers darling. insane is 108MB!! dunno why so big. I'll try to post some of it tomorrow.

crazy video of Volcano taped from the stage, the person must have been literally in front of Damien:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfuhCK_avSI

and a couple of really nice ones,
9 Crimes:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGkTSODK6oc

and Older chests:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrKAa8gXHGA

and Amie, including Vere's We Love You & Damien I LOVE YOU TOO + the funniest story ever, borderline too graphic with the making a mess/bathroom bit

great finding! thanks, gloria

eva... i guess you couldn´t read my review before you wrote yours, lol.
ok, i saw myself in the pictures your post and (again) i´m embarrased! but, WTF! i was there

i totally forgot to tell you guys another highlight of the day... me, my friend alejandra, ema (the eskimo from bahía blanca, eva), richard and alison were walking to the san telmo market (we had a lot of fun there, walking, drinking mate, having an ice cream and drinking a couple of beers before the concert... you guys rock!), and suddenly alejandra said: "damien?... yes, damien"... he was right there, jumping into the van (i guess he was going to la trastienda for the soundcheck). the five of us couldn´t move or say anything else, just wave our hands and say hello very lowly (lol). but he could see us and he smiled... and i had a chance to show him my t-shirt (it was in my bag at that time)... i don´t think he could read any word on it, but he smiled anyway and it´s all that matter to me

larissa, i don´t know how much time we´ve spend waiting... all i can say is it was soooo worthy. you have to do it, for sure.

hopefully, i can get the videos and pics soon... i can´t wait to see them.

thanks eva for your great and very detailed review (i couldn´t throw that much words out of my system, lol). and you rock too! it was a wonderful time we´ve spend together with all the pizza, beer, chat and funny thing.

i´m watching the crazy volcano video... amazing! he ask to people in the audience to say "no-no-no-no (and not oh, ho, my mystake)".

this is nice, timmy
the "please" part is from alison (handmaid), and the "yeah" part was from myself.
so, it turned out the three people who know the song were eskimo friends

Verenita & Eva have pretty much said everything so I will just add a few things...

Obviously, the gig was amazing and seeing him randomly on the street in front of his hotel was bizarre. Like seeing a polar bear in the desert. Unnatural habitat!

Verenita is AMAZING!! She has shown me the best time in Buenos Aires, I wish I could stuff her in my backpack and carry her around the rest of Argentina with me. Thank you Verenita! It was also great hanging out with all the other igloo inhabitants: Eva, Richard, Manuel.

I made good, complete, videos of Insane , Accidental Babies (guitar), and Nine Crimes that I'll throw on youtube as soon as I figure out how to rotate the video. I wanted to give something back after watching everyone else's videos so many times. I also have videos of the Volcano and Amie stories.

Also, I will confirm that he does give proper, GOOD hugs. And he is 1000X more gracious than I would be if people grabbed at me and constantly flashed cameras in my face. Contrary to that old thread, he smells good. He is also ridiculously tiny.

The best part of the concert for me was our eskimo collective cajoling him into playing Insane. Good work team!

Thanks again for all the videos and everything!

I'm getting ready to upload stuff from the first Mexican gig and I was just wondering if anyone would like for me to start with any particular song. I was thinking of going for the ones that are not already on YouTube ("Then Go", "The Animals Were Gone", "The Professor", "Older Chests", "I Remember", or "Grey Room), but I'll be uploading them as time allows so if anyone wants a particular one first ask away

someone mentioned that in a recent gig Damien said something before singing Cold Water (or is it?) about drowning head in a tub and then struggling to breathe, and just at the last moment, bring your head up.. it's like giving life to yourself....

I can't find this post.. can someone help me? I thought this was a very nice metaphor and I just wanted to re-read it and digest it again. Thanks

here it is (glo posted this in sundance january thread):
Quote:
Just before singing "Cold Water," he gave us a recommendation of what to do when we're feeling down. He told us to fill a bathtub with water. Then sit in it. Put your face under the water and wait for the point when it became uncomfortable. At that point, push your face down further. When the sensation becomes even more uncomfortable, grab the back of your head and push yourself down even more. When the sensation is unbearable, grab yourself, and pull yourself out. It would feel like you were giving yourself life...very moving.
