A) Write a poem
B) Get a guitar
C) Play the chord progression Am, G, F, G
D) Sing the poem over the top
E) You have created a song

Am, G, F, G is the king of writing easy songs.

You can still do something traditional

And you could throw in a C in there too!

Then you've got Nine Crimes, Cannonball, Rootless Tree.... I could go on!

I've been thinking about the logistics of this project - like, if we are going to produce physical CD's, who's gonna get them/pay for them/burn them/mail them? I was thinking maybe we could avoid a lot of problems by only releasing it as a virtual album of good quality/lossless sound files + album art for download for a certain amount which we donate to a charity. Or, is that too boring/easy? If we are going to release a physical CD it requires that someone take on the responsibility to take care of the logistics + pay for materials, etc., which may be too much to ask.

timee has said hell ake charge of it, and we can all send him a donation to get it done. i think if were going to do it a physical cd is the way to go. i mean i personally hate "downloading" an album. i htink the whole point of paying for an aklbum if to have it as a phsical thing an artist hasa produced.

I agree about the physical CD thing, just thought it might be too much of a hazzle - I must have missed the part where timee said he'd do those things, soz!

Recommend you start a new thread explaining exactly whats happening for everyone else and for us to post the songs in, no discussion or whatever, cos itll get a bit lost in here.

When do you want all the songs by Timeé? maybe it's an idea to put a deadline out there or something? Just to make sure everyone's aiming towards the same time ad you're not left waiting on some

Do you mean this one? Is it any good? I just stumbled across it yesterday. Apparently it's a Luxembourgian sampler featuring many different (mostly unknown) European and US indie artists. The project was kind of inspired by Damien's "Eskimo" but has nothing to do with him really.

It all started with this Damien Rice` song, Eskimo: “So I look to my Eskimo friend when I``m down, down, down…”… there was this music of bands we listen to and would put in top of the charts for sure…..these songs which gave birth to beautiful illustrations by Muriel Moritz, Francesca Montanari and Emilie Bold, wich are now part of “Eskimo friends”. A music compilation with lots of drawings and words inside. And a story maybe, you could imagine…..just getting lost into the lyrics and the melodies…
from their myspace

back to topic: I'm really looking forward to this compilation! Hope you guys will make it available for the not-so-talented eskimos as well.

yep. it`s this one.. I don`t like it too much. there are some really nice songs on it and some songs I don`t like at all. but I`d say nothing stunning
