I like all of the songs better live. I thought the same about sea sew as well so it's not a big deal to me. I can see how Home might sound "mainstream" (whatever that is) but I still got the chills by the end of the song. It made me think of my home. This album sounds a lot more...folksy if you ask me. However it still sounds like Lisa.
btw there is one song not listed or available on KCRW. There are 11 songs on the album. Not 10 |

Can anyone here write down the lyrics for the "new songs"?
I can only find lyrics for Home and A Sail online... I believe Passenger is somewhere in a thread of this forum, but what about the others? |

Only what I hear... maybe useless as the album is out tomorrow and will probably have lyrics with them, but, excluding the tree you mentioned...
'Knots' - second verse is pretty much a mystery to me It was early in the morning, we were sitting on the stoop The ??? was starting and I thought that I would too Oh, for all I knew I was lost through and through In my high heels and my old dress With my new keys in the wrong city I tie the knots to remember in my heart So I choke and I sputter to a start I am a borrower, a lender, of the lot I walk to where you're sleeping, choking out ??? 'round the scene The shadow play of whiskey talk are heavy, then you dream Oh, now let it be I was lost in him and me In my high heels and my old dress With my new keys in the wrong city I tie the knots to remember in my heart So I choke and I sputter to a start I am a borrower, a lender, of the lot ---- 'What'll I Do' What'll I do without you around When my words won't pun, my pennies won't pound And all of my faith, it flies to the ground (???) What'll I do without you What'll I say without you to talk to No one to serve or volley the ball to You write the words but I miss the volume What'll I say without you Oh I don't know what to do with myself Now that I'm here and you're gone What'll I do when you've gone away And my bow won't pin, my records won't play And all of my hours slip into days What'll I do without you What'll I do now that you're gone When my boat won't row, my bus doesn't come I have the fingers, you got the thumb What'll I do without you Oh I don't know what to do with myself Now that I'm here and you're gone What'll I do without you around When my words won't pun, my pennies won't pound And all of my faith, it flies to the ground (???) What'll I do without you Without you... ---- 'O Sleep' O sleep, come for me I will go quietly Where the roof doesn't leak in my heart O sleep, come for me I'm a boat sprung a leak I'll hide and you'll seek and you'll start For me 'til dawn I'll be too gone to care I'll brave the days The dreams that it chases away They stay O sleep O sleep, come for me I will come willingly Like a leaf from a tree in October O sleep, come for me I wait hopefully I was drunk on a dream, now I'm sober From now 'til dawn It can't be too long for me I count the hours 'Til I sleep with your feet and my feet (???) From now 'til dawn It can't be too long for me I count the hours 'Til I sleep with your feet and my feet Your breath on my cheek O sleep, o sleep, o sleep --- 'Paper House' We lended our heavy heart Borders we broke apart We had a deck of cards It was a start We sit out in the sun And wait for our skin to turn You would ask for true And I'd look for something to burn Oh we walked in a hollow place back then On the edge of Dublin, the edge of May and June Oh to live in a paper house again Where we groom by the light of the moon Often we took the train The sky pacing white to gray When you or I would leave and the other would stay And we were all that we had And breathed in each other's words I would ask for truth And you'd look for something to burn Oh we walked in a hollow place back then On the edge of Dublin, the edge of May and June Oh to live in a paper house again Where we groom by the light of the moon You were much younger then Younger than I am now I still keep as much an eye as the wise allow I still keep as much an eye as the wise allow Oh we walked in a hollow place back then On the edge of Dublin, the edge of May and June Oh to live in a paper house again Where we groom by the light of the moon Oh you what you are to me Oh you know you will always be ---- 'Little Bird' Your heart sings like a kettle And your words, they boil away like steam And the lie burns long while the truth bites quick A heart is built for both, it seems You are lonely as a church despite the queuing out your door I am empty as a promise no more When the time comes and rites have been read I think of you often, but for once, I meant what I said I was salted by your hunger Now you've gone and lost your appetite And the little bird is every bit as handy in a fight I am lonely as a memory despite the gathering round the fire Aren't you every bird on every wire? When the time comes and rites have been read I think on you often, but for once, I meant what I said Here I stay, I lay me down In a house by the hill Undug from the rubble And cut from the kill Here I stay, I lay me down In a house by the hill Undug from the rubble And cut from the kill --- 'Safe Travels (Don't Die)' Please eat your greens And don't sit close to screens Your eyes are a means to an end And I would be sorry If due to your hurry You were hit by a lorry, my friend Like you always say: 'Safe travels, don't die, don't die' 'Safe travels, don't die' And don't walk on ice No matter how nice How sturdy, enticing it seems Please cross at the lights And don't start fires or fights And don't dabble in heights on caffeine Like you always say: 'Safe travels, don't die, don't die' 'Safe travels, don't die' And don't swallow bleach Out on Sandymount Beach I'm not sure I'd reach you in time, my boy Please don't bungee jump Or ignore a strange lump And the gasoline pump's not a toy Like you always say: 'Safe travels, don't die, don't die' 'Safe travels, don't die' --- 'Nowhere To Go' Bird, you've so many hearts on your sleeve One for each feather though you'll never see Blue eyes bling bright lies through leaves on the trees Them seeds that did grow where you sowed You'll never have nowhere to go Look at this silver and gold Shook through a tangle of thorns Bird, we've so many days spent beside The ??? River, now we're deep down dyed Into the marrow and out with the tide With all that you have and I hold You'll never have nowhere to go Your heart it holds more than your hands Not ??? sewn more than mountains Your heart it holds more than your hands Not ??? sewn more than mountains Look at this silver and gold You'll never have nowhere to go Last edited by ko210; 09-20-2011 at 01:41 AM. |

If you follow the link, it'll lead you to the official, very messy video for Knots!
http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/20...hannigan-knots I hope she didn't feel sick after swallowing all that paint lol! PS: If it's not too much trouble would anyone mind downloading the clip and sharing it online? I tried the Orbit Downloader that is usually very reliable but it doesn't seem to work here! If not it's ok I guess the clip will be on youtube or elsewhere soon, I'm just not the patient kind of person! :P

I found a website on which you can listen to Oh Undone for free:
http://www.simfy.de/artists/161287-L...0604-Passenger What an unspeakable shame this didn't make it on the album!

I just found a clip of Lisa performing My Lagan Love, a traditional irish song, a capella:
So beautiful!

The album cannot be ordered on her site indeed, I suppose that has to do with the album not being released in Europe yet...
Have you tried amazon or ebay? And I don't mean to buy Passenger second hand or used, I mean that sometimes there are american sellers on amazon or ebay who sell new Cds or books internationally if they're hard to find or not (yet) available outside of the US. That's how I got Passenger. I had first preordered it on amazon just to be informed that the article wasn't available and that they didn't know when it would be. So I looked for professional international sellers who offered Passenger and ordered it. Received it last week! And as I said, this is not illegal, nor was the CD used. It was in original wrapping and perfectly new. Another possibility would be to buy it on amazon.com, they ship internationally, too, but you need a credit card for that.

there's no EU release afaik, only Ireland (this Fri) and UK (next Mon, Oct 10)... don't think she has a record deal x Europe... same with Sea Saw, don't think it got an official EU release...

Thank you!! I unfortunately tried it and it says due to international laws etc etc they can't let people in the U.S. to listen to it. But thank you anyways. I just have been listening and falling in love with this album. I can't wait to get my hands on the physical copy. |
