ok i thought i should share with the eskimos my absolute joy...

i saved up and finally got the guitar of my dreams (a takamine g series EGS330SC... after playing the guitar nearly daily in the shop i went in one day and just laid the money on the counter and told him to wrap it up

as sweet guitars go this is the sweetest... ive never played an accoustic like it

anyways... it cost 650 the first time i saw it but for some odd reason it went up to 699 so i haggled him and told him id been in a good few times playing it so he did it for 650... plus a marshall 30 watt amp and a nice guitar bag all for 750!

anyways heres a picture of my little bundle of joy :-

the feel to it is amazing... has a beautiful rough grain feel to it and the cutaway is great for playing up high

also here is the pre-amp which is probably one of the best ive ever used

anyways... i thought paying 750 was a bit much but a guitar really gives more back than you pay...

That is a beautiful looking guitar. I love the wood- what kind is that? I have a great little Martin 000-15, which is mahagany. I wouldn't change it. But I miss not having a cut away like yours. Top purchase!!!

Wow, a fine choice there... by everyone for that matter!

This is the little beauty that Mr Christmas and co (and a fair wedge of my own money) will hopefully be getting me this year. The lovely littleTanglewood TW-45 DLX FPP *sigh - in a dreamy way*. It's gonna take a lot of busking to justify the £500 it costs though!

I'm kinda funny about this. The only scratch on my old Alvarez is from when a guitarist in my bf's band picked it up once (wearing his jacket) and the zipper scratched the back! But he died in later yearsso now it's kind of a memento from him I guess...

And when I got my first Washburn my ex and his friend and his friend's drunk bimbo came home from the bar one night and sat out in the garage drinking. I woke up and heard them jamming and stumbled out there and the bimbo was playing my guitar!! (Very badly I might add, she didn't know how to play for sh*t) He caught hell that night lemme tell ya...

And since this has turned into a post-a-pic-of-your-guitar thread...

There's mine. Washburn OG20CE (Oscar Schmidt Series) concert size electric-acoustic. Not as high-end and fancy as some of y'alls but it suits me just fine. Edited by: SisterMidnight

Ohh I didn't know it had that kind of finish. I like that, it looks and feels so natural versus the high gloss finishes you usually see...

Yeah it's priceless actually, no matter what the price range if you can find one that suits you... like Damien's Lowden. Didn't he describe it as having a love affair with it? And he found it second hand all beat up in a shop but it was meant for him. There's nothing like findingthe guitar for you, the one that just fits perfectly. And it's something that will last a lifetime and bring so much beauty andso many good memories for years to come. How can you put a price on that? So happy for you Simon!

I've got a Dean, it's not the best, it's not the worst, it's ok, but I got it signed by The Silence (i'll be mentioning them alot now that they got a singer again) and by a female guitarist named Heather from a local group.

And if you want a great acoustic (not acoustic electric) get a Taylor, good ones are expensive, but worth it.

Yeah Taylors are good. Knew a guy named his dog that cos he loved the guitars so much. Miss Pink likes baby Taylors. I could never afford a Martin or anything but Washburn and Alvarez are good mid-range acoustics, too.

id be very sceptical about lending my guitar out... a few mates asked to borrow for jams and playing onstage but so far ive said no.. i want to have the guitar and make her mine before i let anyone else get their hands on her

ive got a great guitar and a great amp... now all i need is a great effect pedal

i dont know if ill spend too much on it... was thinking of a boss pedal but im not sure what has got the options id want on it and how many actual decent effects as some are rubbish

any suggestions?

I'm getting the Boss RC20 soon enough....if you're looking for a loop pedal. I need a decent amp though.

i was thinking of a line 6 pedal but the only problem is you cant use your foot to change effect.. has to be manual

to be honest, you really cant beat an old MArtin! nothing rings like a martin. guitars sound so much better mic ed up instead of using a pre amp anyway. x
