Anyone else astonished at the high ticket prices £62.75pp for a gig at it's cheapest for the London show......Looks like i'm no longer going

My explanation for that would be "warner music industry".

I assume we're gonna have a lot of radio compatible releases of splits and singles in the future. And super expensive special editions in super-cheap wood boxed - whoops

This presale is just a bit of a mess. Lots of frustrated people on twitter. Also about the ticket prices.

I'm guessing it the demand for Dublin that has done it.

And so it is... Another shambles of ticket sales.

8 euro service and 3 euro transaction fee for a site that just crashes.

Anyone know of anyone who succeeded in getting tickets for Dublin? Twitter suggests not

whoop whoop, can't wait to hear all those pop classics! fairly disappointed in it. What about being in it for the music. Next he'll be charging to go to the busking in Dublin at Christmas....

I feel like warner is just stealing my money, and I'm letting them.

Very sorry for the Irish & British eskimos

It's a new form of torture for Irish/Uk fans. It's the hope that kills you...

But seriously, why are London tickets so insanely expensive? Prices for all other gigs are actually quite reasonable.

Don't know... venue? promoter? Mega-special guests?

Whatever the reason, it has not been good marketing for Damien.

Tickets here in New York are around $60, and my friend in Chicago reported the same. Way above normal prices for small venues, but wow, nothing compared to that London price! Eesh.

Wonder why he's playing the Paladium. Not your typical pop/rock venue.

Yeah, ticket prices were pretty ridiculous. Especially since these tix seemed to be geared more toward the serious fans, that have stuck around and kept paying attention all these years and years and years....
LA show was $62 & $81. Presale was already saying sold-out within the 1st minute of 9am. Luckily I was able to get two tickets still, a few minutes later.

Hey guys, can we bring some actual facts into this conversation? Because you all are kind of just making stuff up.

In my hand right now, is my ticket from Damien at Radio City Music Hall, May 21, 2007. The ticket price was $54.50, plus $10.10 in fees. And there was probably a mailing fee too that's not listed on the ticket. That's more expensive than any of the three NYC shows he's playing in October. I'm going to list every ticket I have, all face value prices which means they don't include shipping fees but include tax and other fees.

2004-04-15 Tower Theater: $35.50
2004-04-16 Beacon Theater: $35.50
2006-12-13 Beacon Theater: $55.05
2006-12-15 Tower Theatre: $46.05
2006-12-16 Lincoln Theatre (Washington, DC): $48.85
2006-11-16 The Hiro Ballroom: $36.25
2007-05-21 Radio City Music Hall: $64.60
2007-09-07 WAMU Theatre: $64.60

I appear to have lost a few other tickets from when I saw Damien in 2003 and from the Mann Center as well as DAR Constitution Hall in May of 2007, but i think that's enough to establish the baseline.

These are the current tour ticket prices as best I can gather. There may be a few more fees tacked on, not sure, but most of these include the fees.
San Fran $49.50
LA: $62.50-81.20
Chicago: [can't find it]
Toronto: $56 US
NYC: $58
NYC:$50.50
NYC: $58
(I'm not doing europe shows because I don't know previous international prices, and I'm not doing all those conversations.)

Ticket prices have not gone up from the last time he toured seven years ago. In most cases, they went down. Please stop complaining.

I confirm what Mario says, for Europe too. The prices I remember for the 2007 tour are the same as today.

But he was touring with a band back then... (I'm not sure if he's playing with or without band now)

The tickets for Brussels where fairly reasonable for le cirque royal, and I didn't mind paying a little extra for the best seats in the legendary venue in Paris, but the tickets for London... that's a just ridiculous.

I have my Mann Center 5.24.07 ticket in hand right now - I was 2nd row Pit and the face value was $42.50. No fees listed on the stub, but I'd imagine it had to be at least $10.

So that's more expensive than the Warsaw and San Fran shows next month, cheaper by a few bucks than the rest.

Thanks. I'm kind of upset I lost those two, they must be around somewhere. Plus there were no tickets for two other shows I saw, at the Tin Angel and The Fire, both in May 2003 in Philly. But at least I have the poster I stole off the wall of the Fire!

I can't seem to find my 5.3.04 Beacon stub, it's not with my others. Ooops, I just remembered where it is! I framed it since we met the entire band after the gig and had it autographed. My husband actually carried Vyv's cello onto the tour bus that night and held an umbrella over Lisa while it drizzled on us. Fun night!

And, the face value on that ticket was $35.50 + $9.30 fee for a total of $44.80, same as the previous month's show there.
