I find this site so good, especially for a non official web site! i'd like to know when it started, how, and who is Emmett ???????

Thanks for the kind words. I started this site in the summer of 2002 (check out the old news reports) as a way of trying to promote Damien's music. He wasn't very well known outside of Ireland and his own website wasn't being updated very much, so I thought it would be nice to have a simple site with as much information as possible, and to keep track of all the news. And I wanted it to be a friendly place for people to meet and talk about music. It's grown really steadily, and quite organically, with a lot of nice people helping and sending in news items and links etc. Our web traffic has grown constantly as Damien has become more and more popular all over the world.

We should have a lot more additions to the site coming soon, with more videos and competitions and all the latest Damien Rice news.

i miss some of the oldies, but still its amazing how much this place evolved from the "post a reply and wait 3 days..." type of forum

emmettu2 was the original admin wasnt he? then he changed to admin so it prob wouldnt show up on the search

and loveless u were one of the first to sign up on the official board too werent you? i was like 13th or something

yeah I was 9th person to sign up to the official DR messageboard, and then when they made everyone re-signup again, I was in the first 50 or something.
