If you're a true Buckley fan you *need* this. It's like a perfectly recorded bootleg of a great coffeehouse show.... You can hear glasses clinking between songs and Jeff goes off on little tangents, especially a funnyparody of "The End" by The Doors. DVD is unspectacular though. 10 minutes and half of that footage is already in the bonusfeatures of the Chicago DVD. But the CDs are well worth every penny.

The Sin-e footage *is* spectacular, especially Jeff's affecting reading of 'New Year Prayer' and ' The Way Young Lovers Do' kills me everytime. Much to short, of course. There are also a few outtakes (more of Jeff's banter) available now on the offical web site |

Live at l'Olympia?? Never heard of it, its not the mystery white boy thing is it.
Anyway, my thoughts. Besides eternal life which was allready available on the original live at Sin é EP none of his songs are what I would consider the definitive very best versions of the songs, having said that the early version/alternate lyrics version of lover, you should have come over is interesting. The real gems on it in my opinion are the cover versions especially Be Your Husband (quick question for those that have heard both, Lisa or Jeff?), Just like a woman, the one by the pakistani guy(I think he's pakistani Jeff mentioned pakistan I think) and the previously available the way young lovers do. Its well worth gettting. Someone mentioned 40 euro, I got it for 32 in tower records.Edited by: #Ian# |

No live at l'Olympia is differnt to the mystery white boy tour cd. Both are really good but theres something about l'Olympia i just love. Maybe its the frenchness, the crowd, the venue or jeff. But whatever it is in my opinion just magical.

Thank you all for your input, it looks like I will soon be in the poorhouse - but I will have spectacular music to keep me company !!! And RedPerspective - thanks for the info - there really is nothing better than an artist you love, in a coffeehouse surrounding with the glasses clinking in the background - cheers !!!! Sionna, I tried to see him and the show was sold out - figured I'd see him next time he came through - it kills me also !!! Cheesy as it is, we will always have his music and it is a legacy - as much as he disliked that idea of the music industry (world), where would we be withouthis addition?!?!

P.S. I've passed around Lisa's cover of 'Be My Husband' quite a lot to anybody who would listen because I adored it so much, but then Jeff's Sin-e version blew me away. One of the most, if not the most, spectacular tracks on that CD. |
