The lovely people in Road Records got this in for me and I picked it up today. Ihave to say that I'm liking it a lot, I'vegiven it 2 listens and had track 1 on repeat for about 15 times in a row now. Anyone else heard them, like them?

Ummm, no; its kind of emo-ish (not in a bad way) indie-rock thing. According to allmusic.com if you like them you might also like: <LI>British Sea Power</LI> <LI>Neutral Milk Hotel</LI> <LI>Clinic</LI> <LI>Franz Ferdinand</LI> <LI>The French Kicks</LI> <LI>Causey Way</LI> <LI>Spoon</LI> <LI>The Walkmen</LI> <LI>The Olivia Tremor Control</LI> <LI>The Polyphonic Spree</LI> <LI>Interpol</LI> Actually if you imagine the polyphonic spree crossed with interpol you'd have an idea of what the first song on the album is like. It also says that they were influenced by: <LI>Echo & the Bunnymen</LI> <LI>David Bowie</LI> <LI>Pixies</LI> <LI>Roxy Music</LI> <LI>Talking Heads</LI> And I can hear some of that in it too.

Well I had to get it in on import. Road can get you in anything you want within a couple of weeks. If anyone heard Leagues O' Toole hosting pet sounds this week you would have heard them.

Streaming songs from here: http://www.mergerecords.com/media.php?query_band_id=98 Or try to find Neighbourhood *1 (Tunnels) on the file sharing system of your choice.

yes! fan-damn-tastic album! it's on my list of top albums for 2004, that's for sure. it's been in my car for a few weeks now, but whenever it cycles back to track one i have to listen to it a few times... (side note: your signature quote is my favorite from track 1) now i just have to wait for them to get big enough to tour in the midwest.

Do you know Broken Social Scene(from Canada): You Forgot It in People? Listening to the tracks I was reminded a lot of them, too.

I do, one of my favourite albums of 2003, Almost Crimes in particular is quite similar to them come to think about it.

Personally I prefer Interpol's first album "turn on the bright lights" it's a little bit punkier and joy division-ish than antics. If you liked "Slow Hands" on thesecond record you might like it.

I got it the other day. Great album. They are set to be huge over in
the states this year and already have a great fanbase over there. Definitely worth checking out this album. Names of the songs are a bit weird |

If anyone was listening to Alison Curtis' show on Today FM tonight around 21:40 you would have heard them.

there is also a couple of live tracks and an interview archived at kexp radio (along with many many other good bands - the death cab/ben gibbard tracks are especially good). here's a link: http://www.kexp.org/aspnet_client/live.aspx you just have select the artist letter and hit go. when i was listening to neighborhood 2, i was strongly reminded of some of the talking heads' work. or maybe a bit of the earlier modest mouse. am i alone here?
