Wow, I totally love this board!! Thank you soooo much for posting that and I can't wait until someone gets their hands on a full band version of this song~! Damo never fails to surprise me and I really think the next album is gonna be full of new favorites. By the way, thank you to Cuuliem for going through the trouble of finding this performance. The thing is lately I've been kinda in a slump as far as song writing and this really lifted my spirits. Once again, thank you for providing the path to such an amazing inspiration.
Oh and one last thing, is that a Martin he's playing?? I really hope so but nothing compares to the sweet sound of the Lowden. Last edited by Valentino; 08-29-2007 at 07:59 AM. |

Once lived a beast.. and beauty,
Painter of paints, She was a cutie, Canvas was hers, Passion was found, And the rain came down, The rain came down. There once lived a beast, and beauty, A forest of trees where the fruit was so fruity Picked one and ate to feed his doubt So she put him out, She put him out. Ooo no, my love and lonely friend How slow we gonna take this bend, This long road with a cold and stony end, Where do you go to pretend? There once lived a beast.. and beauty, Painter of paints, She was a cutie, Canvas was hers, Passion was found, She put him out, She put him out, She put him out, She put him out. Ooo no, my love and lonely friend How slow we gonna take this bend, This long road with a cold and stony end, Where do you go to pretend? Oooooo no, my love and lonely friend How slow we gonna take this bend, This long road with a cold and stony end, Where do you go to pretend? ^ Thanks for that!! The only thing I'm not sure is the 'cold and stony head'... I do hear 'cold and stony END' but not that sure... It would rhyme better with friend/bend/pretend

Actually end does sound better, there is such a thing as the head in the road, but we'll go for end
And I can't believe Damien wrote a line "where the fruit was so fruity," very amateur no? Why was this song not performed on his lowden? Last edited by Moves-My-World; 08-29-2007 at 05:08 PM. |

Thanks so much Cuuliem!!!! And I really appreciate that you would even put up with holding a camera while this song was being sung!!
And thanks for the lyrics Moves-My-World!! I looooove it!! And it seems so different to me....more of a story, in third person....veery nice! And the fruity, cutie lyrics are growing on me but I guess it does seem to fit with the type of story. I have to say though, I think that is my favorite performance eeever!! My goodness.....it feels so hmm...not just honest, but sooo raw:....so deliberate, so slow, he's concentrating on his guitar strings so much, so emotional in some parts as if he's just trying to spit out the words.... Gosh I love it!!! and as a side note...I love the way he pronounces "love"....more like loove instead of luv...gosh, it kills me. Every. Single. Time. |

I think , I can ask my eskimo friends for some donation now, for each show I'm attending ... recording with a camera with a broken LCD screen for the last 2years (I'm "blind-taping"). and I bought a 4Gb memory card on ebay from hongkong that works only on the first 2Go, and the rest is corrupted. so you won't have the whole castlebar show . sorry about that...

I actually like the lines, "the fruit was so fruity" and the "cutie" bit. I think it was intentional on Damien's part (and came across as sarcastic if that makes any sense), but that's just me.
Thanks for uploading borneoman!

I really dont like it. Very amature lyrics writing I think, some of the lines are just too obv or like there there for the sake of rhyme. No real tune too. I think this is defo a step back from his other new songs.
I much prefere you wanna get ****ed inside out Damien to Cutie Damien.

Thank you for the Martin guitar info Calum. I was actually thinking about upgrading my acoustic repertoire by purchasing a Martin and now I think I'm sold! I've always liked them far better than Taylors and there's definitely a sonic difference between the two. By the way, thank you for the lyrics Moves-My-World, such a wonderful job! Hey Borneo, check your messages real quick.

the lyrics leave something to be desired. there is no particular melody either, it definitely doesnt sound at all finished. the vocals are boring. i dont really care for it

Wow! Both the video and mp3 turned out brilliantly Thanks to both of you!
I quite like it. Not sure if it's going to be a favorite, but I think it's one of those songs that I just have to be in the right mood for, and then I'll find it poignant. I love how slow it is though, like it forces you to linger on his voice (especially when he says "my love"). |

I think it's good that he's evolving and maturing and although he's writing about the same things as usual (i cheat on her, she dumps me), it's from a more grown-up perspective, maybe no more angry Damien from now on!!
But I think the melody is amazing, he sings it very well, not boring at all, just the opposite, sorri Lauren And prob the lyrics are not finished since he sings the first verse twice... I really like the lyrics bit about the forest and picking up the forbidden fruit as in fooking it up and then she dumps him |
