Damien Rice was just phenomenal tonight at the Prince. Like... wow. He said that out of all the cities he's been too so far, he likes the Melbourne vibe the best. Go us! The crowd sung along from the very start. I loved the crowd. They were quiet when they needed to be and sung along for every other song. They (we) were very vocal with the applause... no bogans, just an attentive and appreciative audience! The setlist (of what I can remember) in no particular order: - Delicate - The Blower's Daughter - Cannonball - Volcano - Eskimo - Cheers Darlin' - Woman Like A Man - Me, My Yoke & I - Sand - Older Chests - Cold Water - Prague - The Professor - Hallelujah - I Remember segued into Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Kylie) -I think he played a David Gray cover?! I'm not entirely familiar with David Gray so I'm not sure. He played for around 2 hours. I'm dying to go to the Armadale gig but I'm dead broke. I'm pretty tired right now but I'll be sure to post pics in the nextcoming days. Oh, and if anyone can remember any other songs he played at the show, holla. Edited by: bianca |

hey all
im new to the board... he is pretty big. i think he sold out most of the venues he has played out so far. i heard him through a musician called carus (www.carus.com.au), he played a cover of delicate at one of his shows and I loved it, then search for damien. Lastnights show was amazing. How did everyone like Emily Ulman? She was fantastic Peace. Rossco

howdy, I saw last nights gig and was blown away.... Been into Damien Rice since an Irish friend of mine introduced me to the album when I was living in London last year. Was hanging out for him to tour here and jumped at the chance when it was announced. It was a long wait but worth it and more after last night. Loved the drunk song at the end - done karaoke style (I think it was cheers darlin) with a red wine bottle inhand. Great story teller and unbelievable voice. |

We were in the front row. We got there pretty early, there was going to be no way that I had travelled that far to see him only to be stuck up the back! My camera has a zoom though, so its probably a little decieving!

They are lovely, lovely photos, thanks so much for sharing them. Speaking as someone who has never seen Damien live, It's great to see pics and read other people's reviews. So, thanks again.

Hiyaall - am also new to the eskimo crew, boy am I glad to find you all (friends are starting to wonder about the epiphany that is Damien Rice that I keep trying to explain to them) Was at the Prince on Thursday and was just blown away. Easily number one gig in past five years, if ever. Whata genius. Was very sad to hear that the crowd was so disrespectful at the Armadale gig. I managed to get stuck next to a bunch of talkers at the Prince too - theres always a bunch of them I guess. One even had the nerve to yell out "more Kylie covers!!!" - there's always one isn't there... Emily Ulman was fantastic - check out her (very lovely) website... Thank youShelfie for the photos - you've made my day! Does anyone know if the set list differed much at the Armadale?

hi all im new. went to the first melb gig which was the best gig ive ever seen! (and i saw david bowie this year,in great seats, so thats saying something) Im a David Gray fan as well, and was thrilled that damo played one of his songs which was 'Babylon' by the way. He only sung two verses of it though (no chorus) with another song inbetween them.
