I haven't warmed to this song, but I like it more with the video. I'm sure it would sound better live. I hope he plays it during the October shows.

I don't know why exactly but i really like Hypnosis. I know it's very different from his other stuff, but there's just something in the tone of his voice and the flow of the music that has a particularly calming effect on my state of mind.

thanks! i really like the song and the two singing together... although, the music is quite "obvious" if you like. lovely though on love is one of favourite poems in the book.

Can someone write the lyrics? I know is the poem from Kahlil Gibran, but it always changes some words, so... I will really appreciate it.

Slight variation from what I've seen printed of Gibran, but here is what I can make out of the lyrics:
On Love (Kahlil Gibran) sung by Lisa and Glen When love beckons to you, follow him Though his ways are hard and steep And when his wings enfold you, yield to him Though he hides his sword among (him?) And when he speaks to you, believe in him Though his voice may shatter your dreams Love will crown and crucify you Look for your growth so is he for your pruning Love will caress your tenderest branches And shake every clinging one Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself He threshes and sifts you, he grinds (until he meets you?) And then he assigns you to his sacred fire That you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast All these things shall love do unto you That you may know the secrets of your heart And in that knowledge become a fragment, a fragment of Life's heart Now within your fear you seek only love's peace and love's pleasure Vetter cover your nakedness and pass out of Love's threshing floor Into a seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all your laughter And weep and weep, but not all of your tears Love gives not but itself and takes not Love from itself. Love possesses not nor would it be possessed For love is enough You should say "I am in the heart of God." You cannot direct the course of love Love, it finds you and directs your course To wake at dawn with a winged heart To come home in the evening with gratitude And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart And a song of praise on your lips. |
