I'm hearing a few pops on disc2, and am just making sure they were always there. Since I downloaded from SHN's, I'm presuming so. It's particularly noticeable during Childish, and a little during Stand By Me.
Anyone? |

Actually, it seems to be throughout the whole of Disc2. I checked the original wav's I burned from and they have the pops too, so it wasn't a burning/CD problem.

Scon--
The pops are on the DAT master according to Pat when I asked him about it awhile ago. I thought for some reason this was listed on the related .txt but I guess not. It should be updated to indicate the problems during the encore. At this point there are two options I think: 1. Ask someone who is more proficient at Sound Forge or Cool Edit than me to edit out the digi pops if even possible. 2. Another taper from the TLA show mailed me a copy so we can mix and match if need be once I get it. Off to bed with a smirk on my face.. -Disgruntled Sox fan |

That's a pity, but I'm actually relieved. I'd just hate if I'd gone to the trouble of downloading and burning the whole disc to find I needed to download again and throw out the old one.
I was thinking the same about the info file. I'll update the one on my list. If Mario could do the same for the one on the server that'd be great. |

i'd say just release the 2nd source. it's probably not a good idea to try and mix them.

Just experimented with Cool Edit to see what it can do with some of the pops. Here's what I found...
Before After Does it sound to any of you like it warrants getting rid of the feckers? My speakers here are pretty quiet so I can't really tell...Edited by: framesaver

just my line of thinking but you shouldn't edit and redistribute a show after the taper has already edited/released it. it creates for a mess in the community.

I got another source for the TLA show from taper "Murph" so when I have a chance I'll throw that up to the FTP as well or somewhere else if Mario only wants one source.

Feel free to upload the other source.
Yes, Pat had a minor problem (which was a major accomplishment. I drove 4 hours with him to tape Dave and Tim last year and halfway there he learned he forgot some of the cables. Oh, and he almost burnt down the Tweeter Center in Camden in 2002 with a homemade battery that exploded and caught fire on my seat. He's a good time that Pat is!) probably caused by a loose wire somewhere along the way. |
