Greetings and salutations

Greetings and salutations from the United States - Austin, TX to be exact. Sadly, I think I have everyone topped on the age thing. I'm 35 and old enough to be "mom" to some of you. On a high note, though, I'm often told I look 10 years younger. I've never joined a discussion forum so I apologize in advance for any faux pas I may commit. I, myself, am not a politically correct person and my threshold for what I find offensive is sky high so bear with me. Anyway, I hope to have fun here and possibly meet some new friends around the globe.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I've been browsing the discussion forums and hope nobody holds it against me that I'm from Texas. Just want to say, it is a great state (despite some of the "backwards" attitudes and politicians that can be found anywhere) and I do have a frame of reference as I lived in Spain, England and Germany and my descent is Argentinian, German, Portugese and Spanish.

Okay, maybe not such a great state (lol).... I just heard from a co-worker about something called the Rattlesnake Roundup that we have here. They put rattlesnakes in a pit and people try to catch them. Then they cook them and eat them. Oh, just heard the upside to that - it's a fundraiser. God only knows for what. Only in Texas.......

What's the age there, Niallo? Scary that you wish you were as young as me. I wouldn't mind shaving off 10 years and knowing what I know now......

The site is lovely. I have to hold back though and get a feel for everyone. It's easy to slip into the way you talk when you're around personal friends. I'm quite a sailor with the salty language sometimes and that's not always well received.
