Bedroom Gig

A few years ago now, me and my soon-to-be-wife were sitting in Whelans on Wexford Street drinking a beer waiting for a gig to start when we were approached by a guy handing out little blue fliers for this gig he was going to play in Whelans a couple of days later. The guy was Damien Rice and the gig was the excellent Bedroom gig.

Having nothing amazing to do that night (no-one else we knew was playing) so we went along and were subsequently blown away, as most people are, by Damo. Since then we've seen him play solo, with Lisa, with everyone, with Rodrigo & Gabriela (who, if you are a fan of gifted guitar players and haven't seen live, you haven't lived) with The Frames, in Whelans, Vicar St., on the street, on the beech, back in the bedroom in the TMBC, la Boule Noir, and about 20 other places in 3 different countries.

I've talked with, to and about him, lisa and everyone else. I've looked for everything I can find from him officially and (oops!) unofficially and I've influenced as many people as I can to listen to his music. No one has come back to me yet with any complaints apart from "He's taking his time with that new album!"

Then we moved to France full time and had a child and since then we've had to severly reduce our gig going though we do go when the band comes to Paris.
