im gonna have to side with digsy on this one. even though when i left he called me a wierdo! for some reason there is an elitest feel to this site. no offence but i have been visiting here for many months now and i have seen the way SOME of you people treat new fans. your attitiude is completely opposite to the tone..theme...nay the heart of Damiens music. now i dont want to come in here in start shooting the place up but to be called a hobbit??!! (actuallt, i found it quite witty!!) but its just something to keep in mind! by the way, praise must go to young digsy, using Mark fowler AND the word daddi-o in the same opst makes you the king of the english language! |

The first time I heard Damien Rice was last spring when I was in my local Virgin Records store. the instore dj was playing "Amie" over the speakers and I literally stopped walking and just stood there and listened. His voice was so emotional. Then, I listened for the dj to announce who the singer was. after that, I did a search of the whole store to find a copy. So for me, it was just plain timing 'cause even to this day, no local radio stations play his stuff and it wasn't until recently that mags have written about him. Then, I saw his perform live for the 1st time this past September and it was unbelievable. |

I discovered Damien thanks to Tom (McRae)... Yep, I did! Bellx1 was the support band last March or April when I saw Tom in Nantes, and I was amazed... I posted on a forum asking about the Bellies and made a new friend, who sent me lots of CDs of the Bellies, Juniper... and a few songs by Damien. Last summer in Cardiff I saw "O" in a store and I must have gawped at it for too long, cause my Welsh mate sentit to me for my birthday! Afterwards I realised Ihad known "the Blower's Daughter" for2 years, as it was on a compilation I got from Hotpress when I was an Au Pair in England... I remember playing it to my bfand he said "nah its not good enough, he'll never get anywhere"... Ha!
