EBAY SELLERS..........again!!!!

just been searching for some damo material on ebay.......(gonna get one of those cool ozzy tour posters)

and look at the amount of bootlegs being sold...this infuriates me and it isn't the first time it has been mentioned......people if you see one all help in the effort to report them to ebay

right well i'm just a member of the damien rice fan society and we have to keep a check on people who are illegally making money out of bootlegs which are just copied CD's. The reason we do this is because few artists allow bootlegging and recording at gigs but Damien does. If this privilage is abused then he might not let his fans do it. Those are the consequences

You don't need to write much. Keep in mind they get hundreds such reports each day, so keep it short and sweet.

I like to email the buyers, this is what i sent them


you can get this and other damien shows for free, by trading them or doing a BnP (sending blanks and postage to another fan who will copy it for you and send it to you free) The guy selling the show is not the person who recorded it most tapers want there shows shared for free and actually despise people who sell them on ebay.

Though, you know, the sellers with a low feedback number are sometimes new and don't know the rules too well, so in that case I'd probably also let the seller know first.

I can't find the reference now, but I'm pretty sure that it is illegal for an eBay member to contact other bidders, even if it is to warn them of a potential rip-off. Just so you are aware of it.

I know I may sound a little draconian, I just do not appreciate other people making money from recordings that take my time, effort and money to produce. What you are doing is against ebay regulations and I hope I will not have to report you to them as well.

Because most people don't know about trading, are intimidated by it, don't pursue it because they have nothing to trade (and don't know about B&P), because there's an established culture of selling bootlegs in some countries or because most people don't have the time to bother with trading.
