Can anyone recommend burner software that I can download that won't leave those annoying 2 second gaps between songs.

Thanks.

Adaptec CD Creator has an option called 'Disk-At-Once' which removes the gaps so it sounds like the original CD. You should be able to get hold of it from www.download.com or thru Kazza

You should check if there isn't an option to remove them in your software. In Nero (5.x) you had to do that in the file properties of your compilation. In 6.0 they have a check mark box right on the wizard interface now.

I couldn't care less if I pirate music - bring on the big bad lawyers from the f**king t**ser record companies. I'd much rather provide an artist with income by going to his/her gig and not by buying their record, from which they get minimum royalties anyway

Actually, the gap comes BEFORE the first song. And as for software, download the Nero 6 demo from http://www.ahead.de - It's a 30 day trial. If you like it (it's fantastic), I recommend you buy it. (In Nero, you add the files you want to burn to a new compilation, then select all except the first track, right click, and change the gap from 2 to 0.)

And do folks know you can get an SHN plugin for it - So you don't have to bother extracting them to WAV before burning them anymore? Tis v handy.

And don't use anything by Roxio (Adaptec etc) - They're mind-blowingly atrocious.Edited by: framesaver

I upgraded to Nero 6.0 recently. It actually has a checkbox now on the right edge of the compilation screen for getting rid of the pauses. Much more convenient than the right-click/property routine! Check it out next time!

Yeah - It stops other programs from detecting the CD and trying to play it. And DAO should be on by default if you're just using the 'CD Copy' option.

Well that went without a hitch. Cheers Geoff.

I've always used "Easy CD Creator" to burn cd's. Initially wasted loads of cd's trying to get it to work, but since then i've not had a problem with it. </font>

I've been using Feurio and really like it. But I was wondering if there are any benefits to using Nero instead. Is anyone familar with Feurio and have some input?

thanks,

Sara

Hellou.

So I downloaded a concert from Mario's ftp and am about to burn it on cd with Nero. There's a box called "Normalize all audio files" (I think it would be that in english, I have the whole thing in finnish) that is checked by default. Now after reading all this talk about degrading quality i began to wonder if the normalizising thing that i've been using for like 300 discs already is a nono. Someone help me?

Normalizing sets all the files in a compilation to an
average volume. It's mostly used when you're
making a compilation of songs from different
sources that may have different levels and therefore
makes the compilation more consistent
volume-wise. You should probably disable this for
burning live shows though, as you might notice the
volume changing between the seamless tracks. It
certainly isn't a 'lossy' conversion, but I'd say the
tapers would prefer if you just burn the files as they
are without normalizing them - It ensures all copies
in circulation sound the same. Hope that helps.

Thanks framesaver,
unfortunately i already burned the cd's as normalized, but they're only for my own use. If i ever make a copy for a friend i wont normalize, promise!

Feurio and Nero are made by the same company. Nero does more formats then Feurio- vcd, data disks etc. I used to use Feuriofor music cds overNero and I think for music it's probably the best software out there. A main difference with Nero is that it doesn't do data disks- or it didn't when I used it. No shn or mp3 cds.

The only reason I use Nero now is that Feurio doesn't have a driver that works with my new burner.

Thanks for the input, noname5. I love Feurio for music discs and had just purchased it (after testing it a while) when I checked out Nero. Glad to hear that I didn't make a mistake.
