I apologise if this thread already exists, but thought it would be interesting.
(Just in this kinda mood today ) Any ideas? I've got a few in mind but two that stick out from Damien: 'Girl That Does Yoga'~ "The day it ends And there's no need for me" And, 'Lonelily'~ "...then you let me down" Edited by: ~Aoife~ |

even though i cannot stand avril lavigne..
her one song just hits me everytime i hear it 'im standing on a bridge... im waiting in the dark, i thought that youd be here by now, theres nothin but the rain, no footsteps on the ground, im listening, but theres no sound..isnt anyone trying to find me? wont somebody come take me home?" sometimes at like 3 in the morning ill walk to the bridge over the creek by my house if im depressed, or just in a complicated mood, and just stare at the water.. makes me feel like that song

all of "Revelate" by The Frames. i don't know why, it kind of gets to me. i suppose the lyrics are like glen's life story, my number eight, my revelate</span>
(when glen was about 18 he took a trip on his own to new york to try and get a record deal, and the only friend he made was a homeless guy who gave him half a black number eight billiard ball as a present) also: and i'm gonna wait for you, i've got to send this tape to you - </span>"Your Face" (The Frames) you're all i'll ever want, headlong, i'm falling in headlong</span> -"Headlong" (The Frames) I'm just a dancer, an innocent fiction, more like a dream than none</span> "An Innocent Fiction" (Erin McKeown) we were a picture of love, and love doesn't think of forever</span> "Picture Of Love" (The Frames) i tell her i wanna be friends with you, will you be friendly to me? </span>"Kids Song" (Mic Christopher) love will come through, it's just waiting for you</span> "Love Will Come Through" (Travis) i can't call you a friend, cos when you left me here, you left me here to die. don't worry, i won't call you again, cos when i take a hint i take it pretty hard, and when you broke my heart you broke it into shards of glass</span> "Your Sweet Voice" (The Reindeer Section)

"I die when you mention his name."
I agree with the Creep one. Pablo Honey has loads of them. "Please forget the words that I just bluted out, it wasn't me...", also the entire Fake Plastic Trees lyric from the bends.

"Hear you me" by Jimmy eat world has amazing lyrics......... ........"and if you were with me right now, i'd sing to you, just one last time. A song for a heart so big...............God wouldnt let it live" the whole song is heartbreaking, i love it. the Stereophonics "she takes her clothes off"............ .........."She longs to be another teenage dream, the problem is she's turning forty-three, she still takes her clothes off...............they found her dead, dead as nails at home"

jimmy eat world great band and great lyrics
my favourite would have to be most radiohead and damo stuff. Radiohead -But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo. What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here. I don't care if it hurts, I want to have control. I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul. I want you to notice, when I'm not around. You're so f**king special, I wish I was special. Damien Rice - all of his lyrics!!!!!

Kent - Stop me June (little ego) " I´ve been waiting for my brilliance to shine through like waiting would do I´ve been called a little coward more than once It hurts when it´s true I´ve been following your footprints in the snow Trying to return the excuses that I stole (...) I gather all the courage and the hate Little ego goes wild And my voice broke I finally reached that age I was cruel as a child If this feeling that remains is not mine then it´s something new Maybe my brilliance shining through It´s noisy, can´t think I can´t speak I´m tired of handshakes so please Get rid of this crowd I can´t breathe here anymore You just have to let me go, you just have to let me go "

this isnt all too much heartbreaking, but it sends chills down my spine when i hear it '1st day of sunday school...the teacher walked in and a sad little girl stares at a picture of him she said 'i know that man up there on the cross...i dont know his name...but i know he got off cuz he was there in my old house, he held me close to his side, as i hid there behind our couch.....the night that my parents died' its a country song....based on a true story as well...which just sends even more chills ah...and 'have i still got you to keep me warm?'Edited by: unexplainedmuse

Another Kent song: Stay with me. "were you the only one that made it feel right being me?" Unbelievable Truth, I can't wait: "and I can't wait to have you near again, and talk about the things that we both went through" Tom Mcrae: "every brigde we build we burn, and we never learn to swim" Jewel: "this is my heart, bleeding before you, this is me down on my knees (...) I've mistaken you for somebody else, somebosy who gave a damn, somebody more like myself"

"Juliet, when we made love you used to cry. You said Ilove you like the stars above, I'll love you till I die. There's a place for us - you know the movie song... When are you gonna realise, it was just that the time was wrong?" Dire Strait

If you leave me now It's not that I can't take it It's just that somehow I think you'd break it So much beyond repair Like pulling out my hair And poisoning the roots Turn and walk away I've overspoken Now what more can I say? I know that I can kneel And I can cry I know, I know That I can show you how I died Now what good would it do Give the world another fool Just sitting on this stool I'm close to giving up on you fool-damo And I hate when you say That I never fight for you Sometimes you breathe All over my skin And you always end up Closer than close That's where I give in You're taking You're taking You're taking me down You're taking You're taking You're taking me down And you always end up Closer than close That's where I give in That's where I give in That's where I give insane I would've lied for you I would've cried for you I crossed the line for you I would've died for you... then go...sung by lisa

i know this sounds silly but the new song by britney i think is one of her best (don't worry i'm not really into comercialised stuff) but this is a good song:
Britney Spears - Everytime "At night I pray That soon your face Will fade away And everytime I try to fly I fall without my wings I feel so small I guess I need you baby And everytime I see you in my dreams I see your face, you're haunting me I guess I need you baby" and Motion picture soundtrack by radiohead. Great lyrics. Motion Picture Soundtrack Red wine and sleeping pills Help me get back to your arms Cheap sex and sad films Help me get back where I belong I think you're crazy, maybe I think you're crazy, maybe Stop sending letters Letters always get burned It's not like the movies They fed us on little white lies I think you're crazy, maybe I think you're crazy, maybe I will see you in the next life Beautiful angel Pulled apart at birth Limbless and helpless I can't even recognize you I think you're crazy, maybe (x6) I will see you in the next life |

Pearl Jam - Last kiss ..........When I woke up the rain was pourin down. there were people standin all around. Something warm flowing through my eyes. but somehow I found my baby that night. I lifted her head, she looked at me and said. hold me darling, just a little While. I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss. I found the love that i Knew I had missed. Well now she’s gone. even though I hold her tight. I lost my love, my life, That night. Oh where, oh where, can my baby be? the lord took her away from me. she’s gone To heaven, so I’ve got to be good. so I can see my baby when I leave this World. Radiohead - Exit music(for a film) Wake... from your sleep The drying of your tears Today.. we escape We escape. Pack and get dressed Before your father hears us Before.. all hell.. breaks loose. Breathe... keep breathing Don’t lose.. your nerve. Breathe... keep breathing I can’t do this.. alone. Sing us a song A song to keep us warm There’s such a chill Such a chill. You can laugh A spineless laugh We hope that your rules and wisdom choke you Now we are one In everlasting peace

Angie Aparo "Wonderland" Take a piece of the sky Make it rain cherry wine Give her love give her life Give her mine She's a child young and willing In a world that's unforgiving That in time takes all the living From your soul I stand in the night with a silver sword Killing her demons beating em off her door Sleep baby don't you cry Daddy's got a worn-out lullaby And I live forever dark and damned To see you spend one minute In Wonderland She can run free forever Still our blood runs us together I'll be there if she runs home For worse or better I know you like Adam knew Eve Every tear you cry is a tear that I will bleed Sleep baby don't you cry Daddy's got a worn-out lullaby And I live forever dark and damned To see you spend one minute In Wonderland "Hush"- A. Aparo She got it all The boys they would crawl Away from her door then they come back again But don't let'em in Smoking their grin Leaving their best foot out in the cold I'm waste of a momma's boy It's a shame they say There's so much you know he'll never enjoy All the love you come to destroy There's a moment lost in time When she says hush I'm on your side It's just the two of us You know that I You know I'll never say goodbye She smiles for me It don't mean a thing It don't take away the way it was before I'm foolish and grown I should've known Her's was a world made for just one throne I'm a waste of a momma's boy It's a shame they say There's so much you know he'll never enjoy All the love you come to destroy How many days can you waste it boy It's a shame they say There's so much you know he'll never enjoy All the love we come to destroy There's a moment lost in time When she says hush I'm on your side It's just the two of us Though they might try |

ohh i forgot one other very important one.. "These tears I've cried, I've cried a thousand oceans. And if it seems I'm flo...o...ating in the darkness, well, I can't believe that I wouldn't keep, keep you from flying. So I would cry a thousand more if that's what it takes to sail you home. Sail you home. Sail you home. Sail... Sail you home... " -Tori Amos "1000 oceans"

My 2 favourite Bell X1 songs! The most excruciatingly sad song I know is this one (works better if you hear his voice though): <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="90%"> <T> <TR> <TD> <H3>Bright Eyes -It's Cool, We Can Still Be Friends </H3>Yeah, you still kiss me, but it's just on the cheek Yeah, you still kiss me, but it's just on the cheek Yeah, you still kiss me sometimes, but it's just on the cheek You pull away so easily And I still call you, but I get your machine And I still call you, but I get your machine And if I'm lucky I guess, I get your roommate answering But you're at the bar, or at Gene's And we go to dinner, but you won't hold my hand We sit at the same table, but we don't play with our feet Yeah, we still go to dinner sometimes, but we don't sneak a kiss When the waitress turns around And we still watch movies, but we don't share the couch And we still rent movies, but we don't share the couch Yeah, we still watch movies sometimes, but you don't lay in my lap The plot is slow, take a nap And you even stay over, but now we stay in our clothes Yeah, you'll even sleep over, but now we stay in our clothes Yeah, you even sleep over sometimes, but we stay in our clothes I'm only there so that you're not alone And you say that I hurt you, in a voice like a prayer Yeah, you say that I've hurt you, and your voice is like a prayer Yeah, well maybe I hurt you sometimes, but let's contrast and compare Lift up your shirt, the wound isn't there I guess that your truth, is just the ghost of your lies I guess your kind of truth, is just the ghost of your lies Yeah, your kind of truth, darling, is just the ghost of your lies I see through them all the time So I'm pouring some whiskey, I'm gonna get drunk Yeah, I'm pouring myself some whiskey, I'm going to get really f**king drunk I'm pouring some whiskey right now, I'm going to get so, so drunk That I pass out, forget your face, by the time I wake up</TD></TR></T></TABLE>

Love that song, also known as the first part of Ian's medley of songs in C that he doesn't know the whole way through.
