Fred...that explains a lot. Thanks for the Cork lesson. You know, I've been in Northern Ireland but I've always wanted to see the Republic. How do most of the Irish feel about Americans?

99.99% of Irish people are cool about Americans. There's a few people who aim theiranger/disgust for the American "Establishment" (namely Bush) towards the ordinary individual rather than the "establishment". But a small minority. Which i think is bullsh*t!There was a guy on here a short while ago causing trouble, but that was just him looking to stirr people up! And offending a lot of people.

Umm, yup cool about Americans(if they're cool....if u know what I mean!)
I mean you can't say "I love/hate all Americans/Irish/Spanish/whatever" cos you've met only a tiny percentage of them.

So.....there are people out there who will say "I hate Americans, they think they're the centre(center!) of the universe, when they're as ignorant as sh*t, etc, etc" ....but those people are idiots.

On the other hand there's alot of idiots in America too so it all just balances out!!! Alot of them tend to be bouncers...but maybe that's just my experience?!!

Sorry for not really answering your question!!
But Hey, I American Girls!! I know I said you can't generalise like that but, man...
Alot of them find me umm, amusing though...I often get things like: "I'm sorry, I can't understand a WORD you're saying!" or "You Irish really DO drink alot don't you?" They're still cool tho.

Yeah, Kavu....keep the posts up...One day I'll be in the band!! Although by that stage it'll prob be one of those crazy bands with, like 40 members...Anyway, feel free everybody to call me paudie...When I'm out over here and I tell people my name is paudie, they just go.."oh PAULIE?" and I'm like "ah, no!" .....sooo I just go "Hi I'm Fred" now...It makes things so much easier!

man, is it just me or does this site become somewhat addictive! It's crazy because I have no idea who you people are but...sniff, sniff...ya like family...granted family like the one cousin that I see once every four years and am told not to make direct eye contact with due to his nervous condition...but family none the less!

Hi Angela,
Right, say PARTY like the way they say it in Boston(not sounding the r) and pronounce the t like a d and you have it. I could actually be Party boy!!
...Paw-D is probably the best way to pronounce it...

See to avoid all that explanation when I'm out(cos 9 times out of 10, over here, they'll call me Paulie) I just say "hi, i'm Fred!"

Paw-D boy! There 'ya go! That would sure confuse all newcomers for good. It's a variation of "D-for"
