I just found a clip of Lisa performing Knots at the Pohodia Festival in a really colourful dress:

Hey there, Eskimo Friends!
Time to come out from the shadow again, to report 2 gigs I've been waiting to see for maybe 6 years or so... I finally got to see Lisa!!! And twice in 3 days, just to feed my hunger. First gig was at Pohoda Festival, in Trencin. (Where the colourful stripped dress rulled) The whole festival was AMAZING (really recommend it, the organizing was Peerfect!!!!) but Lisa!!! It was the first time I saw her live, and it gave me shivers the whole performance. She played for an hour, the classicals from Sea Saw (Ocean and a Rock, Pistachio, Venn, Sea, I don't know - later she said that this was her favourite one from this gig- and Lille) and some new ones: Knots, What I'll Do, A sail and of course, Personal Jebus (not in this order). She was very hot (literally), because her show was just at sunset, and the sun was right in her eyes, burning her cheeks. But she was dancy and it was a really nice atmosphere. Then at 21.00, she had an autograph session planned and we talked a bit and I asked her to tour also the rest of Europe(not just the US and Ireland) and she said she'd really like that (so let's just hope for this!). I was amazed by her friendlieness (if that word even exists) and by her humble and gracefull atittude. This was saturday. And on monday, she had a concert in a CHURCH!!!!! in Bratislava. You know, I always taught that BBC4Session is the best concert I've ever seen and that the 2 concerts with Leonard Cohen are the best I've ever wittnessed. Well...maybe not. I guess you can imagine Lisa's voice in a church, so maybe it's useless to describe it. The playlist was: Pistachio Paper House A Sail Ocean Venn O Sleep Little Bird Nowhere to go Home Sea Song I dunno Passenger What I'll do Lille Encore: Knots Safe Travels Personal Jebus My favourite ones so far are Little Bird and What I'll Do. Two completely different types of songs, but really good ones, I think. Anyway. It's been a very long e-mail, after a very long silence. But I had to share this with someone Here are a couple of pictures from Pohoda:

I can only imagine how amazing her voice would sound in a church. Thanks for the recap!
Is "Nowhere to Go" the same from one of those Baltimore recording diaries? It was my favorite from those videos, so here's hoping it gets a studio release. |

@ riotana:
Wow, I'm jealous that you actually got to see her twice! Thanks for the pictures, the review and the set list! Like you, I really hope that she'll tour Europe, too, this time, so fingers crossed! @ ko210: I think Nowhere to Go really is that song from the Baltimore diaries though methinks it won't be on the record. I did a little research on Passenger, mainly to find out when exactly it will be out, and one article I found said that the new album will feature ten songs. So, judging from the setlists of the current tour, I think these songs will be A Sail, Passenger, Knots, Little Bird, O Sleep, Flowers, Paper House, Home, What'll I Do, and Safe Travels Don't Die, as these are the ones she plays the most. But like I said, that's just a feeling. During the Baltimore Sessions, she also played a song called Lillies and Suds, maybe that and Nowhere to Go will be B-Sides or so. Then again, I may be totally wrong.

why are recent live videos being taken down from youtube? it's this a new policy from lisa's management or what?

i don´t think it´s new. when she first went on tour, they asked not to post vids nor audios of the new material. i think it´s the same now. in fact, i was surprised by the chance to listen to the new songs.

I didn't follow the recording of the new album or the recent tour, I've been out of the loop lately, but I remember months ago we could easily find new songs on youtube, songs like Passenger or Secrets In Stones...

Hey! Thanks for your kind thoughts!
As for the latest recordings, yes, I think someone is monitorizing Youtube and as soon as they see a video of one of the new songs (not Passenger or A Sail or Personal Jebus - these are already "old"), they ask that person to remove it. Which I must say that I like! However, I've got some ****ty recordings from the Bratislava gig, but very poor quality (both sound and image). If some of you want them, sent me a PM and I'll try to send you the videos somehow :P I've got half of Little Bird and half of What I'll Do.

and what happened with Braille? She's not playing it anymore so I guess it won't be on album 2... thought that was a good one...
and what happened to Secrets in Stones? Renamed? there was also another one alled Droney Drummy or something like that?

Well, Braille was sort of released, remember the link that was sent to people who got the newsletter so they could download a studio version of it (I mean Braille not the newsletter )?
But I also wonder what happened to Secrets in Stones, she only played it a few times and never again. And Droney Drummy was the original name of Secrets in Stones, if I remember correctly... Maybe she wasn't happy with the song? I liked it though...

Bush Hall setlist from Tuesday 19th July
A Sail Paper House Flowers Ocean Venn Diagram O Sleep Little Bird Nowhere to Go Home I Dunno Sea Song Passenger What'll I Do Lille Knots Safe Travels Don't Die Personal Jebus Booked these tickets and promptly forgot about it and was a little surprised by the fact that it was really an album tester rather than a proper tour, but very much looking forward to her return trip, which she said would be "soon". I'll be writing a proper review for a website soon so will post here. Excellent gig as per though |

James Vincent McMorrow just posted on FB:
James Vincent McMorrow off to sing songs in a cave with Lisa Hannigan and Caoimhin O'Ragallaigh, cannot wait. Great show in the Roisin Dubh in Galway last night, first show we've played in Ireland in a while, hearing people singing along was pretty magical.

Here's a video of Lisa singing Lille - again - at the cave gig:
The sound is not very good but I think the clip gives an idea of the atmosphere during the gig.
