Default Well, I wrote this song which sounds like Damo-influenced...

Hi all! I'm not a musician, but recently I wrote this song, which happens to be much Damo-sounding, so I thought you may like it... well, of course I'm not as good as Damien, the lyrics are a bit banal, my intonation isn't always perfect and so on, but I hope you'll forgive me for that

You can download it here: http://www.mclink.it/personal/MJ8917/

It's the third file from the list.

Unfortunately for you, the song is in Italian, so I'm writing the lyrics and a tentative of translation (it's a very poor translation... if anyone can correct it, please do it! For example, I didn't know how to translate "così sia", which is a sort of "amen" - the whole song is a sort of a prayer, though not to a God)

Hope you'll like it... since I guess the real addressee of the song will never listen to it, I loved to share it with you at least

****

Brucia questa danza dentro me

Non ti scorderò, no, mai, mai, mai

E' come un sogno, davvero
Non mi credi?
E' difficile
Svegliarsi, sai?
Dammi vita
Avrai l'anima mia
Dammi luce
Dammi la serenità

Salvami adesso
Il tuo sorriso sarà la mia via
Lancia quest'ultima magia

Fata mia, insegnami ciò che non so
Aiutami a combattere il dolore che c'è
Perdonami, sappi che comunque andrà
Non ti scorderò, no, mai, mai, mai

****

This dance is burning inside
It's an hysteric tune that doesn't gives peace
I grit my teeth and look for some harmony
which cannot be found
I open my arms and think of you
Then I half-close my eyes to try to reach you
If you want to, I can disappear
But please speak to me, you who can do that

Save me now
I believe there's still a way
Give me a sign, and let it go

My fairy, teach me the truth
Help me to fight the pain there is
Forgive me, you have to understand that - no matter how it goes
I will not forget you, no
Never ever ever

It's like a dream indeed
Don't you believe me?
It is difficult to wake up, do you know?
Give me life, you'll have my soul
Give me light, give me serenity

Save me now
Your smile will be my way
Cast this last spell

My fairy, teach me what I don't know
Help me to fight the pain there is
Forgive me, you have to understand that - no matter how it goes
I will not forget you, no
Never ever ever

The guitar part is lovely! Very reminiscent of Delicate. I can't see how you can claim that you're not a musician if you're capable of writing something like that!

it does sound very like delicate at the begining, but later on it's lovely, i love it even without understanding, i love ur lil vocal tremelo, i dno if that what u meant as "but I hope you'll forgive me for that", but i quite like it out, there is a bit wher u shift out of key but that's nothing. i love the song and words are beautiful, as is the language actually. well done

Benissimo! Anch'io mi piace la chitarra e le parole (?). Mi dispiace, ma non parlo bene l'italiano...

Wow, thanks a lot, you're very very kind
Actually, the guitar part is quite similar to delicate (I think I even use the capo at the same fret). I guess, as I wrote on the thread title, I'm so much influenced by Damo kind of playing that I couldn't avoid it... or maybe it's a kind of tribute.
As for me, I'm not a musician as I play for myself only... I rarely write songs, but this time I had to... the song is autobiographical, so it was a little vent

maybe u should start playing more to other people, i'm sure they'd like it, i know i do . i've got no problem with it sounding like delicate at the begining! i think it's cool that u have taken influence from damo.

For those of you who liked my thing (BTW thanks a lot, I love you!) I just recorded it again... just for you! It's just the same song, but I think I made it a little better... there's a point in the second verse where I took the wrong note and I had to correct it, but in my opinion this is a better version than the previous one. It came out to be a nine-minutes piece... but as I said, it's a little vent for an ill heart, so I had to do it... thanks for your patience and sorry for bugging!

you can download from the usual page http://www.mclink.it/personal/MJ8917/
The song is "Senza titolo" (no-titled), it should be the latest one

I love each and every one-but my favorites are your italian ones-though Idon't know italian-I love them the same. I'm glad your sharing your music with someone- it deserves to heard. Your so talented,I admire your modesty.

Do you mean you listened to all of my recordings? Wow, I'm so honoured of that! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the time you took to listen to all of that stuff!
Actually, most of them are covers... I havn't written many songs. And some were just experiments, or recordings for friends But I'm so glad that you liked them, and you even prefer my song to the others... wow! I'm blushing

it sounds better, even your voice changed a bit, clearer. but you need to find someone like Lisa to sing that long "la...aaah...." part. as before, the guitar part is beautiful.

Wow Dmbit......a truely moving work.........I like the passion that comes thru in your performance......did you write this (Senza titolo) for someone special?.......

I also agree with Penguin boy.....the falseto/tremolo with your voice is unique....with more work....a little more experience and a small dose of confidence you could do very well......I wonder if you sometimes find it as difficult as I do to forget about the "tape rolling"?

I like the accent on your version of gravedigger....(I have yet to learn that song as I am horrible at reading tabs)....... you cover that quite well if you focus on your pronunceation....and I find the part where you change and go up a 7th vocally intresting.....practice keeping that section closer to the way youve done it before you do "gravedigger triplet riff .... (I can only imagine how hard it must be to sing in a 2nd language...)

I hope you find none of my ramblings insulting......I am very critical of my own works.......and I am always looking for an outside source to give input.......

Getting to the point, would you mind if I used some of your song lyrics you have translated for us?........I would like to challenge myself to make an english version, with only minor changes in rhyme and pentometer to suit the translation........ I too can relate to feelings that run as deep.......

Keep up the good work......
My Reguards, Shaftage
