Hey Cali,
I would say that I hope everything is going OK but I know that its probably not the easiest time for you right now. but I thought I would share something with you a lil story about my mate who had been smoking since he was 13. He went to a university town and partyed up hard and did some damage to his body (like we all do) and managed to get himself quite sick. he ended up in hospital and had to come back home and drop out of uni. well after smoking a pack a day he decided he had to turn himself around as the drink was obviously a problem as well. he tried to quit a number of times to no avail and then fell back into it after his longest stint of 2 months fell short when he broke up with his girlfriend (isnt it always the way). so he started to do exercise it just started with a few runs per week but it started to take effect when he found that he was actually getting somewhere with his fitness he always said it was a lot more ecouraging when he could go for a longer run and notice a measurable difference from week to week. well it was last year when he had a huge party and got a lot of friends around for a bbq and it was actually for his 2 year anniversary for quiting (apparently he can legally and medically say that he is not a smoker) and now he has a 4month old son and he has never been happier. It was so cool that we all had a party for him achieveing his goal. it may not seem much to others but giving up was his everest as it is yours at the moment. all the best and in the words of Dori "just keep swimming, just keep swimming"

You are an absolute idiot, maybe you shouldn't have taken a drag in the first place, if you're going to whine about your addictions, at least let me whine about how untolerable your silly post was. No one can help you but yourself. Why dont you just tie all your fingers together, and throw away your cigarettes, or the next time you want to smoke, find someone who will have the courtesy to slap your mouth with a stick for even thinking about it.

Don't be such a baby. What you're implying to me by saying I have no right to insult you, is that you truly don't understand the way everything works. Don't put yourself out there, and only expect candy, not everything is sweet. Get over it, or toughen up.

You go girl, congratulations!
I heard that reading this book actually works: http://www.amazon.com/Quit-Read-This.../dp/0762410701 No ****, I've really heard about several people who read it and quit for good. I don't really know what it does, it must be some sort of self hypnosis at some level, plus he's avoiding all the moralistic jabberdapper and really makes it seem like the only thing to do. Or so I'm told Oh, and Ramona/Tina/Cleo/Ann(e) Coulter/whoever you are: shove it.

Hey Cal..
Here is what I am doing:
A lady gave me this advice as to how she quit. When you feel the urge.. take 2 puffs, then put it out. The body will settle its crave for the nicotiene (sp?) with just that. Then next urge, relight that, and repeat.. put it out. That in its self cuts down on your intake till you will need less frequent trips. Its working so far!! We can have our own support grop!! xoxoxo from Macross
