Kosketa minua älä käsilläsi, mutta sielussasi.
(In English: Don't touch me with your hands, but in your soul. Yes, it is the Finnish part of Eskimo)

"No love, no glory
No hero in her sky" perhaps. haha "I get the feeling you're bored with me" would be nice as well

It's been awesome hearing everybodys response. Here's mine (I think)
Quand elle joue avec moi, et je pense que je l'aime de fois It's just perfect for how I'm feeling but that is most likely just teenage hormones |

'waking up without you is like drinking from an empty cup'
'It's not that we're scared It's just that it's delicate' 'I remember it well The first time that I saw Your head around the door 'Cause mine stopped working'

Damien Line?
I look to my Eskimo friend
When I'm Down Down Down 1st time I heard that, I shuddered and wept, Not got tearful, Not shivered, Not got wistful, I wept. Syd Barrett, frozen in a moment of childhood vs ugly. Childheart, Wide Eyed Boy singing Jugband Blues....then Dark Globe Damien unknowingly kicked open a couple doors I thought I had bricked over... I look to my Eskimo friend When I'm Down Down Down Go figure, I'm a Stoner...I hear and remember Everything Walk in Peace. |

my top 3. (his lyrics are too great to choose just one line)
''Loving is fine if it's not in your mind'' ''And if I'm low, can I drown in this rain? I guess I'm no good, I guess I'm insane'' ''Though I stand with this rain on my back but it feels so damn good.. To belong'' |

Well, I have a few, on both ends.
This is how I feel nowdays, as if she were talking to me. She being whomever I'm with: "You stick your probe in further but you're still not pleased and if there's someplace else you'd rather be then go." And this goes out to someone, well, it's whatever, I feel like this is something she knows is something she can relate to: "So go play with your piano, write a mediocre song about the shell of mediocrity, and pretend there's nothing wrong." A sad, but true feeling: "You flood her with water When she shows her flame And you expect her to get up And feel the same" God, this one is self explanitory, really: " If you're gonna stay Don't just say it Stay, really stay" One last one: " Is there not enough light? Or do you just not see? What you do is what you hated in me? Though I was never free enough to." That's all I think. Last edited by erik mabry; 04-01-2007 at 02:48 AM. |

I've looked high and low and can not seem to find the lyrics to "What This Night Is For." Does anyone happen to have them?
Thank you. |

"And I die when you mention his name
And I lied, I should have kissed you When we were runnin' in the rain What am I darlin'? A whisper in your ear? A piece of your cake? What am I, darlin? The boy you can fear? Or your biggest mistake?" As precise as i can make it.

"Where's Lisa?"
What? It's not a Lyric? The way people keep shouting it along to his songs, I thought he'd revised some of the songs. Oh bummer! I suppose the whole of Accidental Babies summed up my life at the end of '05. You could have seen me wandering around with it playing on repeat on my iPod, looking lachrymose on public transport. Looking back that seems horrifically self-torturous!

Hope the first one counts!
Among the afflictions With which I've been marked I'm not so prententious And not quite so dark And so it is The shorter story No love no glory No hero in her skies But ye can't make me happy Quite as good as me.. Well... You know that's a lie She lives with an orange tree and a girl that does yoga I had to add the last quote because I sing it to my friend who is staying with me at the moment. I have a lot of fruit trees (orange included) and she always nags me to do yoga with her. I only pick the dead oranges up because my dogs eat them!

Best Damien Rice lyrics ever;
There is a rusty light on the pines tonight sun pouring wine, lord, or marrow down into the bones of the birches and the spires of the churches jutting out from the shadows the yoke, and the axe, and the old smokestacks and the bale and the barrow and everything sloped like it was dragged from a rope in the mouth of the south below

"Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to cry So come on courage! Teach me to be shy 'Cause it's not hard to fall And I don't want to scare her It's not hard to fall And I don't wanna lose It's not hard to grow When you know that you just don't know" This one pretty much. Also the "I wanna hear what you have to say about me. Hear if you gonna live with out me. I wanna hear what you want. What the hell you want?!" |
