Well they break easy for one and sometimes they don't do the job if they don't hold the strings to the fretboard tightly enough.. you get this bad buzzy deadsound off the strings and it's harder tostay in tune...

but hey welcome there newbie IntaCepta!

..that whammy bar cartoon still cracks me up Edited by: SisterMidnight

There's nothing wrong with a cheap capo. I bought one for IEP£5.00 seven years ago and it's still working perfect. (That's approximately USD$8.00 now)

If the action on your guitar is any way high then a cheap capo will
just not do the job. I know from experience. Best bet is to just go for
a kyser or shubb. Might cost a little more but pays off in the long run

oh i see what you mean

welli've been using a cheap capo with both my low action acoustic AND my high action electric for about 3 years now.

It hasn't snapped and has cappo'd every string well, apart from the Ebig string. But that was because of me not applying it well.

yeah, those cartoons are hilarious, anyways, i have a kyser and it does a great job, about cheap capos (if this hasnt already been said) they tend not to hold the strings down to good and allows for strings to bend giving it a "warped sound" if oyu get this, its usually not the guitars fault, its the capo, also ive had experience with cheap capos putting more pressue on one string than on another giving it a sound as if its out of tune or the tuning is different, again, its the capos fault, so buy a nice capo, capos also allow the sounds of chords to almost sound "better" and gives the song a richer tone, like in the song cold water on the albumn O, its capoed on the 5th fret and damo just plays normal chords that just sound so much better capoed on the 5th fret rather than not using a capo... all that to say, get a nice capo, its like buying a guitar, you invest little money, youll get little out of it, so spend a little more and be wise in what you buy, later...=TBone

man his guitar is busted up! but ya as people have said, get a good capo, they dont cost much ,15-20 bucks, they'll last u a long ass time...ive had both the dunlop and the kyser quick change...the kyser fits a bit tighter, thats really the diff other than the kyser looks cool and ALOT of artists use it, as with capos that u can adjust the strength..pfft too much work, kysers are good, alot of pros use it..GET IT

or even when it's a good capo you can accidentally put it on at an angle (versus straight and parallel with the fret) and then some strings sound out of tune so you start retuning... i've even seen damien do that and then noticed his capo wasn't on straight...

i didn't realise that putting a capo on wonky made it sound out of tune... how wonky.
