the bit in "I Remember"</span>: "I remember December"</span> always makes me sad, becuase i think about what might have happened in that December...
also all of The Frames' "Angel at my Table"</span>: "There's an angel at my table And she broke her wings She's packed her things She said I'm the only one she'll turn to</font> But there's a devil on my shoulder And he's telling me she's so beautiful That I should go up there and hold up She's looking on</font> How can I stay here It wouldn't be what she wants And I'm trying to break it easy But she's pleading with me</font> Will you be my anchor When there is no-one around to hold me down Will you be my anchor I know you're not the answer</font> There's an angel at my table And she's blessed the breeze That blows in between her and everything She's left in that (heaven) And I wish she'd call 'Cause that devil's on my shoulder And he's pulling me down And I'm trying to keep a balance But she's begging me</font> Will you be my anchor When there is no-one around to hold me down Will you be my anchor I know you're not the answer</font> There's an angel at my table She said I'm the only one she'll turn to"</font>

Lover, you should have come over by Jeff is an obvious selection for me. Another one is A Perfect Sonnet by Bright Eyes. Here goes: lately i've been wishing i had one desire something that would make me never want another something that would make it so that nothing matters all would be clear then but i guess i'll have to settle for a for a few brief moments and watch all dissolve into a single second and try to write it down into a perfect sonnet or one foolish line because that's all that you'll get so you'll have to accept you are here and then you're gone but i believe that lovers should be tied together and thrown into the ocean in the worst of weather and left there to drown left there to drown in their innocence but as for me i'm coming to the final chapter i read all of the pages and there is still no answer only all that was before i know must soon come after that is the only way it can be so i stand in the sun and i breathe with my lungs trying to spare myself the weight of the truth saying everything you have ever seen was just a mirror and you've spent your whole life sweating in an endless fever and now you are laying ina bathtum full of freezing water wishing you were a ghost but once you knew a girl and you named her lover and danced with her in kitchens through the greenest summer but autumn came, she disappeared you don't remember where she said she was going to but you know that she is gone because she left you a song that you don't want to sing we're singing i believe that lovers should be chained together and thrown into a fire with their songs and letters and left there to burn in their arrogance but as for me i'm coming to my final failure i've killed myself with changes trying to make it better but i still ended up becoming something other than what i had planned to be now i believe that lovers should be draped in flowers and layed entwined together on a bed of clover and left there to sleep left there to dream of their happiness |

I could go on for years : Name me someone who's not a parasite, and I'll go out and say a prayer for him - Bob Dylan It's lying awake that makes me sane, it makes me sick, but I can't change again - Stereophonics You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave -Eagles My day is the first of the ascension - Frames She don't keep time, she don't count scores - Neil Young There's a sign on the wall, but she wants to be sure, cause you know sometimes words have2 meanings - Led Zep Leave me out with the waste, this is not what I do, it's the wrong kind of place, to be thinking of you - Damien Rice That's it for the moment. So many to choose from. This may not be my absolute favorite but it's the first that comes to mind. "Image's of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes which call me on and on across the universe."-The Beatles-Across the Universe-What a rockin song.

"I gave me away
I could have knocked off the evening But I was lonelily looking for someone to hold In a way I lost all I believed in And I never found myself so low And you let me down You could've called if you'd needed But you lonelily got yourself locked instead And you let me down It's one thing being cheated But you took him all the way through your bed" how much more can one person relate so well with some lyrics?

Ok I have some more Me, my thoughts are flower-strewn - REM Telling Red Joe the places she go, wiping the tables clean, she got no idea, of the demon of fear, or what a broken heart means - David Gray Now people just get uglier, and I have no sense of time - Bob Dylan And the best, last : I got a friend from the new frontier, and Galen, she says this is not America, you need a girl with electrical hair, and the word that you wanted was aluminium - Counting Crows

... actually, this song has helped me through some very difficoult times. many of dave's songs has. in fact, i'm not entirely sure i'd be alive without his songs. i'd forgotten about this for a while, because i have been exploring new music - thanks for reminding me of 'old' dave, really! think i need to listen to the 'flesh' and 'a century ends' albums right now....Edited by: supercille
