Has Cheers Darlin' ever been performed live? That, along with Prague, are 2 of my favourite songs of Damien's, and i've never heard either of them live. Been to 5 gigs now too... Glad to see the alignment thing is fixed! And thanks for mentioning me on the front page!!! <img border="0" src= "smileys/smiley10.gif"> |

I've been to four so far and loved every minute of them. I've heard 'Cheers Darlin' at least once. Not sure if he played it at the album launch but he definitely did at a tiny gig in The Stables in Mullingar. He was standing on a table in the middle of the roomand insisted on being passed up a pint and a fag to lend the right air to the song.I hadn't been overly fond of it until then but i really like it now. Not sure if i've heard 'Prague' live but it's a great song.

Not sure the allignment thing is fully fixed yet!! but getting there. I've heard Cheers Darlin' a few times, always at the end of the set when he plugs in his minidisc player and sings along to the backing track. and he always manages to find a pint and a cigarette to match the mood. I haven't heard Prague live, but I think somebody said he played it in Leap (or was it Clonakilty) a few months ago... or maybe that was "lonlelily"..? |

yeah... i've seen him do "cheers darlin'" a few times though it's always been againstthe backing track from "o." somone was asking about that on the official board a while ago, and i don't *think* he's ever done it entirely live, or at least not recently.he might have at the album launch but as far as i can remember it wasn't. it actually works really well with the MD though, the time gwen mentioned at the stables probably being the best (and most entertainingly dramatic) i've seen i want to hear "lonelily" live. apparently he played it at the last stables gig which i missed :/ |

He played Prague in Boston this year, San Diego, Munich, and a few others last year... fantastic live... As for Cheers Darlin', he played it a few times last year, but the best bootleg I've heard of it is at the Birthday Gig in 2002... he downs a bottle of wine throughout the song, throws his cake at Lisa, and generally just gets very very drunk. What a legend

Yeah he performed Cheers Darlin' in Vicar St on 8th
December. He told us the whole story behind it and how he really fancied this girl he just met in a pub and was really gutted when he found out she had a boyfriend. So he went home and wrote and recorded the song while pissed (hence the sound - he didn't realise the treble was up so high) at his mum's kitchen table (where he mobile studio was at the time because he was so broke). It was really sweet. Bet that girl regrets not snogging him now!!!

I've seen Damien live four times now and all four times he played
Cheers Darlin, and this last time in San Francisco he played Prague...I know because it's one of my best friends favorite songs and she almost squeezed a chunk out of my arm when he started. The first time I saw him Cheers Darlin was brilliant, everyone switched instruments and the wine was flowing and tomo sang...he needed the lyric sheet though! |

He played prague unplugged in Pittsburgh. It was amazingly intense.
