Accidental Babies
This is a cover song right? If so, who originally did it?

Well I don't know. I was just assuming it's not since it's not on the Lyrics page. I love that song though. It's really fitting in my life right now. |

accidental babies was a 'secret' tune for a while; everyone knew it existed cause damien played it at a record store gig but he also asked people there to not trade it cause it'd spoil the surprise of hearing it on the next album or summin. but then time passed, no album, and he played it at other gigs too so... it's not that secret anymore.

never heard it (well, I only have heard 2 songs of damien's that aren't on "O")
The name seems to be a joke, or something very twisted . . . unsettling |

^^ The title comes from the lyrics:
"But do you really feel alive without me? If so, be free If not, leave him for me Before one of us has accidental babies" Try the gig on Fabchannel.com if you're looking for new stuff, he plays Face anyway and probably a few others (can't really remember!) But yeah I'm more or less 100% sure AB is original.

This is one of the few I have yet to hear, but I've read over it a dozen times now and may be my favorite lyrically. Does anyone have a copy they could send me, or where I can find it. Thanks in advance.

I transcribed it last year and posted the lyrics but here they are again:
Well I held you like a lover: Happy hands And elbow in the appropriate place. And we ignore our others: Happy plans With a delicate look upon your face. Our minds pressed and hardened: Hurting parts of your garden With no room for a pardon In a place where no one knows What we have done. Do you cum? Together ever with him? And is he dark enough? Enough to see your light? And do you brush your teeth before you kiss? Do you miss my smell? And is he bold enough to take you on? Do you feel like you belong? And does he drive you wild? Or just mildly free? What about me? Well you held me like a lover: Sweaty hands And my foot in the appropriate place. And we use cushions to cover: Happy glands In mild issue of our disgrace. Our bodies pressed and hardened: Herding my desire in With no room for a pardon In a place where no one knows What we have done. Well I know I make you cry And I know sometimes you wanna die But do you really feel alive without me? If so: be free If not: leave him for me Before one of us has accidental babies. We aren't free. Do you cum? Together ever with him? And is he dark enough? Enough to see your light? And do you brush your teeth before you kiss? Do you miss my smell? Is he bold enough to take you on? Do you feel like you belong? And does he drive you wild? Or just mildly free? What about me? What about me? What about...? Mystic: check your email...

When I heard this not too long ago (a fellow eskimo hooked me up to some Damien live tracks) I was expecting it to be a bit more upbeat, even whitty because of it's title. It really is deep and passionate, though. I don't know, but What A Good Boy (by the Barenaked Ladies) seems to pop in my head after the tune.
Anyways, I was suprised, and it's an excelent tune. Definately needs to be on the next album. I also just got the B-Sides cd, and will listen to Professor tonight, along with a few others . |

Hey Natural Mystic, if you havnt heard it is brilliantly musicaly.
Damien plays an electric les paul guitar and loops the what about me through the entire show. He does wah-wah through the chorus too. When Vyv is there she picks up her cello and does a drum beat on its back. Sometimes he does a 10 minute long extension where he goes to the piano and plays an improv. Deep, passionate song.... |

Thanks Spamlet and Cali for sending beautiful song. I loved the lyrics as soon as I read them and the music accompanies it perfectly.
