Voice lessons/tips/suggestions

I know this topic was in this forum a while back, i remember reading it, but was not a memeber yet. Anyway, i have been trying to better my singing voice. Im itching to start performing, but my voice is the only thing holding me back. Its a shame because i have some decent/good material, but i really dont have the voice quite yet. It has gotten better over the past few months, but it still isnt where i want it to be. I really dont know where im going with this, but i was frusterated a bit and decided to turn to the igloo. I was going to get lessons, but they were too expensive. I know they have books and such to teach yourself proper technique. I sound good at times, and others i dont, i really dont know how to control my voice. I dont know, im rambling. thanks guys

i'd just like to be able to sing good, i have an ok voice, it's kinda flat though dunno how to get it so it don't sound flat
