Default To anyone who is/was very familiar with Juniper

Could you do me a big favour? I have recently downloaded a lot of old Juniper tracks, but have no idea what albums/releases they are from.

Could somebody tell me how many albums they released, or show me where I can see a full list of the named albums + tracklistings?

Or even better, type me out one here!

thanks guys

The majority of the tracks, if not all of the ones, you received are likely from the rarities CDs. The tracklisting varies slightly but these were mostly the songs they had yet to put out. They're also naturally mainly the ones Damo and BX-1 have since re-recorded or played live.

A list (off the top of my head), since I'm hungover and incapable of doing anything more constructive:

Full Moon,
Rusted Sparkle,
Indeterminant,
Not Quite Divine,
Enough,
Insane,
Lie To An Angel,
Shannon Court,
Relief,
Expensive Silence,
Then Go,
Never,
Deliverance,
Eskimo,
Volcano,
Face,
I Remember December,
Woman Like A Man,
Beautiful Madness,
Sex Change,
Cutting The Rose,
Ophelia,
Down,
Tongue,
Me, My Yoke & I,
Spaceship,
Wooden Horse,
Slowset,
Offshore,
The Professor,
Voodoo Doll,
Boring Afternoon,
Jewellery Box,
Toffee Pop,
Little Sister,
You,
Weatherman (& Remix),
World is Dead,
Rage,
The Orchard,
Just Can't Help Believing,

I've also heard whisperings of some other songs including one called "Girl With the Dirty Hands" but I don't know of any recordings. Also, there are multiple recordings of a select few of the tracks listed above.

ok try typing it into your web browser yourself rather than clicking on the link - and put capitals as follows:

/Bellx1/Uploads

so on the B and the U.

Hope it works!

Does anyone know if there is a possibility to get my hands on the "Manna" EP?!?

I would just looooove to have a full band version of "Insane". I have the unplugged/Damo-only version from KCRW and another AMAZING performance where the f***ing mice stops working in the middle of the song. But I'd really like to have some other recording. And I'm pretty sure that the Juniper version must be totally awesome.

BTW, has Damien ever played "The Orchard" at one of his solo gigs? I absolutely ADORE this song. I'm not really into his "younger" voice, but in this song it just sounds amazing.

He has never played "The Orchard" that I know of, outside of the Juniper days. Apparently he did play Weatherman once in his current incarnation though.

Sorry but both the "Manna" EP and especially the "J-Plane" cassette tape are ridiculously rare. If anybody here has them then they either aren't admitting it or have informed me the condition of their having it was that they weren't permitted to share with even one other person. I'm the only one who's got the direct line on the forthcoming Hiro show tapes, so I doubt they'd hold out in the face of that.

Ah, so Damo uses mice! I always knew he had to have a secret weapon. Those lil fuzzy b*stards can sure strum, eh?

You're right about "The Orchard" it's a pretty incredible song and he should definitely bring that one back out to perhaps rework it just a lil' bit (like much of Juniper it's 'lite' on lyrics and doesn't really even have a second verse just the repeated chorus going into an extended instrumental outro).

Nine,
No, that's not what I meant. I'm saying if you look at how many songs Juniper recorded (around 43 by Closing's count and I consider him the expert here on the band) you'll see that over half of those: I believe 23 songs (unless BX-1 have either renamed some besides 'Never'-or played other ones live in which case an even higher number- I'm not terribly familiar with them) have been brought back out. On the rarities version that I know there are something like 27 tracks (that usually includes two different live versions of "Never") and so if you have all of their EPs (other than the impossible to find first two) and the BX-1 records and Damo's live, rarities etc. then there are only probably about 4 songs on the Juniper rarities with which you won't be familiar (Cutting the Rose, Ophelia, Voodoo Doll, and Down) but it sounds like you have nearly all of those already.

So of the ones you said you still needed only Voodoo Doll, Slowset (and sometimes Needles depending on the tracking) are included in the rarities discs. Slowset, however, is also on BX-1's first album. Voodoo Doll is decent but probably nothing all that amazing that would get re-done.

You'd probably have to stick a €10,000 cheque in with your Hiro Tapes to trade for a copy of J-Plane, to the best of my knowledge it was just distributed to friends of the band at the time; hence people not wanting to give theirs away.

Hypothetically though, imagine if an eskimo did have J-Plane and Manna, that person would be hit with a storm of weird, cheesy, depressing and downright abusive pm's from people who thought they deserved to own the coveted tapes in question.

You can completely understand why this hypothetical person would never mention it again... ever.

Someone around here posted a link to "Boring Afternoon" so I went to the website and snatched all the Juniper songs they had. I wish I had some hard copies, though.

I'm looking on eBay, and there's a CD, "World is Dead". It looks like the seller wants $50.90 for it, but the bid is at $26.00. Four tracks, seven bids, and it still has two days left. Dang.

Didn't you know that? And they're incredible singers, too!

But thanks for the info, guys! Even though it's not what I was hoping for.

Anyway, if there's somebody out there with a decent full band version of "Insane", I'd love to trade for it.

Egads! I had no idea it was THAT rare!

Thanks for the info though, hypothetical person!

To the best of my recollection Bell X1 have recorded: Volcano, Slowset, Offshore, Beautiful Madness, Face, Little Sister, Woman Like A Man, Never (Eve) and Tongue. They also used to play "You" in their early days as Bell X1 and possibly a couple more.

Really? Voodoo Doll is one of my favourites! I think Matter Of Time was also supposed to be included on the rarities album but got lost along the way.

Unhappy Howdy, I know this is delayed and all..

I would love to be able to listen to some Juniper stuff. I was really excited by the website that was posted by nine, in high anticipation of hearing some Juniper tunes for downloading. But when I tried typing out the link (even with the capitals) it wouldn't work. Could someone send me a link for this that does work? Or point me in the direction of a place to download these tunes? I have tried popular file sharing programs, but there is never enough sources to get a song.

Any help would be muchly appreciated!

The Juniper collected rarities album is still in this forum... Try to guess which thread!

(I'll give you a clue, it's the sixth post in this thread.)

Which brings me to one of our favourite eskimo sayings; "there's a search button at the top of the page"... Enjoy.
