Just found out that the new song Damien played with Glen at the Ruby Sessions on October 6 is on YouTube:

Damien really demonstrates how average Glen is on this track IMO.

thanks for posting the link.

it's beautiful song, very difficult vocally. hope to hear a nice studio version of it. may be Lisa's vocal will fit in better than Glen.

also i watched INSANE in the same session. i never understood the song better untill now.

Sure the "the greatest bastard" he played in Iceland is about Lisa...the next album will be even more beautiful when we already now what it will be about (again) ;-)

Brief transcribe of what I hear glo:

It broke me
Not what you were saying
It drove me out
Stay inside
Right beside my warmth
Stay around

And help me through this
And help me to do this
And show me how to leave you alone

And help me know/ignore you
And if help doesn't hold you
Will it help me to leave you alone

I'm not saying
?
Not complete
But you drove me out
I have lied
From behind ?
But I'm still around

Help me through this
And help me to do this
Will you show me how to you leave you alone

Help me to know you
And if love doesn't hold you
Will you show me how to leave you alone

OOOOoOoooooo

And help me to do this
And help me through this
Show me how to leave you alone

And help me to know you
And if help doesn't hold you
If it's help, ? alone

I think it's almost fitting that they sing this together, since they both play in bands with people they were dating, that they loved, and it didn't work out.

I really love it

I hear it a little differently, but thanks for the leg work on this!

It broke me
Not what you were saying
It drove me out
Stay inside
Right beside my warmth
Stay around

And help me through this
And help me to do this
And show me how to leave you alone

And help me to know you
And if help doesn't hold you
Will it help me to leave you alone

I'm not saying
That you owe it
Not complaining
That you drove me out
I have lied
From behind, oh
But I'm still around

Help me through this
And help me to do this
Will you show me how to you leave you alone

Help me to know you
And if love doesn't hold you
Will you show me how to leave you alone

OOOOoOoooooo

And help me to do this
And help me through this
Show me how to leave you alone

And help me to know you
And if help doesn't hold you
If it's help, me to leave you (?) alone

Why is it so important for people who a song was written for?

Damien screwed himself over mentioning that some of the songs were about Lisa. Now everyone will try and squeeze the meaning out of every song to relate to our poor knowledge of their relationship.

It's too bad cause songs aren't necessarily meant as diary pages - thegreat thing about songs is that they can mean different things to different people.

That being said, this song is a bit to diary'esque to me in it's form.

^He still has a lot to learn from the true masters of the instrument, like him:

Here's some notes on what I believe I'm listening to:

It hasn't been mentioned yet but the video actually begins after at least one line has already been sung. You can briefly hear the final syllable in the opening second which sounds like it's probably an 'in' to me so...

________ (likely) prayin'
That broke me.
Not what you were sayin'
That drove me out.
Stay inside.
Lie beside my warmth.
Stay around.

And help me through this
And help me to do this
And show me how to leave you alone.

It helped me to know you
And if help doesn't hold you
It'd help me to leave you alone.

I'm not sayin'
That you're ow(n?)ed.
Not complainin'
But you drove me out.
I have lied
From behind oath(s?).
But I'm still around.

Show me through this
And help me to do this
Will you show me how to you leave you alone?

It helped me to know you
And if love doesn't hold you
Will you show me how to leave you alone?

OOOOoOoooooo

Help me to do this
And help me through this
Show me how to leave you alone.

And help me to know you
And if help doesn't hold you
If it's helped me to leave you alone.

Although the laws of causal effect indicate that the last line was meant to begin with "Then", I believe in their fervor they accidentally added the second "If" which is what's understandably causing us confusion.
