iowa - i have been to java joe's! it was years ago tho, my ex played an acoustic gig there once. it's a cool place.. i do remember they had excellent coffee!

he shoulda taken it as a compliment--and a stretch at that!

this guy at school was playing i remember just after having broken up with his boyfriend. he just kept spilling his guts out to random bystanders and claiming he felt exactly what the song said...

i'm glad i'm not the only one who remembers happy joe's with some fondness. although there was a horrible clown figure that doubled as a helium dispenser for blowing up balloons that utterly creeped me out. was this only at my specific happy joe's or was it a chain thing?

and to keep the thread kind of on track, i don't think that i would have ever heard damien rice at happy joe's.

I'm not so fond of Wild Wings. My parents decided to stop there for some beer last vacation, which left me and my underaged self to sit by the door for three hours observing the obvious sexual attraction between the bar tender and this flawless little barbie doll waitress wearing purple lipstick.

I was in a pub in Edinburgh really hungover after the night before and I heard Cheers Darlin on in the background, but it was not from "O" just a mix cd the bar girl had made, strange choice for 10 o clock on a Sunday morning.

A jazz cafe that was held in a tent at a Christian camp in Somerset, England.
That was a bit bizarre.

In Starbucks in London. Actually, I never hear Damien Rice songs because in Holland people barely know him. So the first day I was in London, I heard it and I felt so happy

Sure! And the song stops because the batteries of the cd were finished. Yesterday I was watching a tv show called HOUSE (a doctor), and they put it a damien song. I cant remember what song...

me and my buddy went to a badly drawn boy concert people were shouting out "play (this) damo" cuz his names damien too. so we both starting shouting play cannonball, blowers daughter etc. we were both really drunk, never heard badly drawn boy before and shook his hand after the set. i then ordered a pizza threw up and then ate it... the pizza that is. you dont wanna know what we were shouting at a punk gig we went to.
