Default 9 crimes demo...

On the Dutch version of '9' there will be a demo of '9 crimes' according
to an online store. I already posted that some time ago. Some doubted
that that would be the case, however:

http://www.nl.bol.com/is-bin/INTERSH...&lgl_Section=1

You can listen to a small clip of the demo there ^^

Sounds awful imo and shouldn't be on the record.

I'm not buying this version. Give me that Tibetan singing bowl now!

I kind of like it, though it sounds more like a juniper song than the other version. If that makes sense at all?

Very interesting. I wonder why it's only on the Dutch version though?

I don't know but it's not right, especially given the fact that I have pre ordered my copy right yesterday from the uk...and I quite like this version of the song as far as I can tell

It might be the same hidden track listed as the original demo version that is available for pre-order on iTunes...???

Okay, for anyone who doesn't really know about EAC, but still wants to get the 9 Crimes Demo on their iPod here's how to get it off the cd. First get Exact Audio Copy (EAC) from here, it's free.

As you install it, it asks you if you need the advanced options turned on, which you do to do this, so pick yes.

When the program starts put the cd in and go to 'Drive Options' in the 'EAC' menu (or press F10), then click 'Gap Detection', and change the two fields to 'Detection Method A' and 'Secure'.

Then click the 'Action' menu and select 'Detect Gaps' (or just press F4).

After that go to the 'Action' menu again and click 'Append Gaps To Next Track'.

Then right-click on track one and in the 'Copy Selected Tracks' menu, select 'Uncompressed' (or press F5), and you'll end up with a .wav file with both versions of 9 Crimes in one file. After that you can use a basic sound editing program to seperate the two recordings and save the 9 Crimes Demo as an mp3.

downloaded EAC earlier but it didnt copy the track, apart from the 3:30 silence before track 1. Got annoyed with it then so gave up, for now.

wow that's really weird - I was copying "9" onto my computer today, like I do with every new CD I buy, and I was wondering why the first song was highlighted in red. I was using Exact Audio Copy and had never seen a song in red before - now it all makes sense

the album's only out 1 day and already there are repackaged versions of it.

the leaked copy on the internet had 'The Rat Within The Grain' listed as track 11.

I'm sure it is. Start playing track one and then rewind... it's part of track 1, but at something like minus 3 minutes.

Sadly my CD player, a brand new flashy looking JVC, doesn't have a rewind button, not even on the remote.
