Beautiful performance, I'm impressed (and I shouldn't, after hearing lots of gigs) by the way he can improve his songs everytime...once more, he has surprised me, esp with that awesome version (surely the US single, then) of rootless tree...amazing, this is Damien in all his glory

Heee, no it works fine. Its the blasted stream I couldn't get to work. I have endless problems with KCRW. Always have.
But I just saw your download... That totally made my day. Downloading it now, fingers are crossed. After hearing you all rave about AB, I really want to hear it.

Sorry for being dumb with computers, but I can't seem to open the file to play the music. I saved it and then tried to open it, and it did not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm really wanting to hear the slow piano version of Rootless Tree.

Just finished listening to it... wow.
That ending on AB was beautiful, the whole song made me cry. Rootless Tree was awesome too, and got me all teary-eyed as well. I think we can probably assume Lisa and the band will be there Monday at the El Rey... now I'm more pissed than ever that I have to miss it! And I have a ticket, too!!! ARGGHHHH!!!!

I'm really loving the slow version of Rootless Tree. Maybe he'd consider recording a B side of it.

Did anyone listen to that interview on this? Wow, he must really hate these publicity things he has to do. He did say he wants to play South America so he can play to a different audience and not have expections from people that have seen him before.
He then said that with his time off he learned that someday he is going to die. OK- this might be going to personal, back to the music. |

Don't worry, you weren't the first (or even this week) to not recognize that. Seriously, people, Help me out, here: ever since first hearing that breathtaking extended "AB" cello ending in the live stuff this summer I've been literally praying that there'd be a proper, quiet studio version with it included. Now we almost have it!!! Doesn't anybody know a lil' mixing trick to take Mr. Rudesby McYappy's voice out? It's plainly on a different mic track so it would seem to be entirely do-able, no? That would honestly make my year. P.S. I do think it's very likely a piano version of "Rootless" (with the beloved swearing back in, naturally) will be on the b-side of the single but it couldn't possibly be the US single version as some here have speculated. Unless the version of "9" we've all heard thus far is that different from the album that will be released in the US this Tuesday which is highly unlikely. A single still has to be essentially the way it appears on the record itself. They do sometimes shorten/edit (obviously) for radio/MTV, but it can't be drastically different unless it's being promoted/sold by itself and labeled that way (remixes/demo/alternative etc.).
