What do yo all think of Bell X1's version of Volcano? I'm not liking it too much myself...

I think it's good...nice to hear a different "angle" to the song. Anyway, I just love the bellies!

You're always at a disadvantage hearing a song you like covered. You're always set up to be biasedtowards the original. Same applies here. I didn't like Damien's first time out because I had 'neither am i'. I do think Damien's is better, but try and listen to Bellx1's takein its own right...

yeah Bell X1's version would have been released before "O" was released.

But it's still Damien's song...

I'm confused. Are we talking Juniper or Bell X1 because I've heard the Juniper version but Bell X1 continue to perform it too? Or recorded it again after Damien left the band?

I haven't really followed Bell X1 so please forgive my ignorance...

.... which was out long before "O".

But Bell X1 don't perform Volcano live anymore - haven't done so for years.

i like bell x1's version... it shows the songs variety... damien playing the song live tho has revamped it and its extremely funky

I prefer BellX1 version over Damien's, for no reason in particular, I just like how it sounds. I really didn't like the Juniper version though...

And here's why:

IW(that's me): What’s the story with you not being able to play some of the songs from the Juniper days that were on “Neither Am I”?

Paul Noonan: We’re able to play what we like, we just choose not to. There are certain songs that we have found a voice for and there are certain songs that Damien’s found a voice for. I feel that “Volcano” is his song in a sense that when I hear him play it it speaks far louder than when we ever played it. There are certain songs that I do feel more for from that period than others.
