Ray Lamontagne last night
Hi Guys just wondering if anyone else got to see his gig last night at the apollo, because I need another side to the debate.
It was my first Ray gig so I didn't really know what to expect from a live set. He sounded better live than on any of his albums, but I just thought that there was something missing from the gig. Maybe it was the size of the venue being too big, but I just couldn't get in to it at all, and walking away at the end of the gig I really didn't know what to think.

I saw him in the Birmingham Symphony Hall the other night. I thought the music was perfect for the venue. Not too big, not too small. I think there was one moment during Barfly when his voice just went to another level, like in overdrive, and the hairs all over my body stood on end. Leona Naess was pretty gd as well as a support act, but her songs were fairly generic

I was at the Symphony Hall gig too, I thought Ray's voice was stunning. And he performed a nice set of songs from both albums...loved every minute of it.
Corkboyinexile, it's a shame there was something missing from the Apollo gig, I imagine it must have been disappointing to come away with that feeling.
