This song is absolutely fantastic. THIS is what I want to hear from Damien. This song could fit easily on O. I'm really digging it. If his new album is going to sound like this, I'm definitely going to be all over it.
But really let's be honest, the new album could be him singing the phonebook and I'd still be scrambling to buy it. I prefer this option much more though. |

the song is so damn good! This almost made me faint with happiness. It was enough that Damien is using Glen's guitar which usually sends me into spasms of joy, but oh my...

I love it. (Mirror is a good title, Verena.) It is a return to classic Damien form, which is absolutely great. Nobody does it better, hands down. More than anything else though, it was just good to see him getting out there and sharing his music.
I wish he had left that post up if he did write it. (..or he could always post here..) It would be nice to hear from him now and then. The "hello kids" part made me smile. |

I love the melody (have yet to hear a Damo song that wasn't catchy, pretty or both) and it has good lyrics but let me be the lone dissenter to offer that both the guitar chord and strum patterns are typical/predictable/tired/lazy/repetitious. When he says "still playing around" hopefully that's what he means because I felt the same way about the earlier guitar accompaniment of the otherwise excellent WIIW? but he then ended up changing that.
I vote for either "Box" or "Gift" as the title since that most literally and figuratively encapsulates the song as a whole. BTW, can anyone tell what those people in the crowd said besides "Is he Irish?" and what song title the guy yelled which made Damo laugh right before the intro?

I agree to some extent that it has the typical Damien chord progression of all his songs but it's all kings of amazing all the same
made an mp3 of the HQ version, at this point I don't even care for a studio version, this is enough for me http://www.4shared.com/audio/Mwjj14r...Q_Whelans.html ps there's also a video of some other guy in which Damien is dancing (yes, dancing) at the background not in a Thom Yorke kinda way but he's moving

it would only be a temporary title anyway, like the blower's daughter part II and the girl that does yoga were "official titles" until he actually released them with different titles...

yeah thanks for that marti - it was great! - and hope you are well
while agreed not thom jigging but did seem a little over exaggerated if you ask me - but clearly he was having fun so all good and presumably since all was admitted to in the written interview it is now ok to discuss round these parts.............so was this new song a statement as to where he is today vis a vis lisa? |

Seems like a sweet gig. I wouldn't call that dancing so much as moving to the music. I had expected actual moves or pirhuettes or something like that
