Default Bono and Damo

As I was talking to a cpl mates at the tavern, both Bono and Damo came up....it wasn't a who vs who anything, but I kept thinking...I dunno, you can work to save an entire continent, like it's a choice most of us have, or plant a few seeds....
At the moment, I'm still kind of enamoured of Johnnie Appleseed....sometimes tackling a whole entire geo-political-economic-cultural-continental expanse seems kind of overwhelming to me.
Just as I turned to comment to a kiddo who had loaded up the jukebox with incredible tunes, I saw a baglady through the window, pushing her cart down an American street, and I wondered what song I could play for her that might matter....
I did not hear, so much as felt Cold Water...then I left to go home...away from all the talk.
Gimme a lil quiet poet, it might take a bit longer, but that's just me, the mucker of an Armagh lad...

Attack from both sides!

I don't have a problem with what either of them do so long as it's done with good intentions. Bono's such an easy target. Always has been.

As far as: "Gimme a lil quiet poet, it might take a bit longer, but that's just me, the mucker of an Armagh lad..."

It might take "For-never" or "far too late" if you take the "quite poet" approach. They tried that approach in the 80's and didn't realize that the root of the problem was bigger than anything they could resolve with some simple aid to Africa or having a few people sign up for Amnesty. I recall an interview with Geldoff and Bono discussing how after Live Aid was completed, they felt they had really done something. Only years later had they realized that they hadn't even really begun to touch upon the infrastructure of Africa (which needs to be resolved first.)

If the heart is there to help a single person, or millions - it's all good!

Dave

Point maybe is this: If I were rich and free as Bono or Oprah, I'd be heard by more people from further away. In the meantime, I am kind to my Buds, and I try to help out those in more need than myself. Maybe by living out the songs of my gentle poets, I can ease a heart's pain one by one.
Who knows what gentle poetry lies in the heart of a "baglady" (I hate that term), or my fellow going through a rough patch in his life? That is the road upon which I travel.
BB King once said,"I don't sing the Blues to make people feel sad, I sing the Blues to let people know someone else knows how they feel, and maybe that will lift them up."
Damien Rice sang a few words to me that I thought only I had felt.
There ya go. That's what I'm "on".
A lady once said: "Let not the morning sun dry the tears of your fellow that you can tonight dry with but the touch of your hand."
That's what I'm "on".
Walk in Peace.
Cheers, Darlin'.
