Just a note to say how jealous we are that we won't be in NYC next Monday to see Bell X1 support Damien. For you guys that are there, I hope you realise how bloody historic that is going to be!!!!!

And we expect a full report on how the whole night goes....

Cheers in advance

yeah, very exciting set-up

am i th only one thinking that it was really for the best for all that juniper broke up;
-> damien made his fab solo project
-> bell x1 has made some cool stuff too

to me juniper is fun to listen to out of an archealogical interest, but nothing more - their work doesn't really sound all that good to me

is it just me?

I think Juniper were pretty good I haven't heard much of their songs but Weatherman is brilliant.

Yeah, juniper/Bell X1 don't do it to me. They're really missing Damien's creativity. So what's the story about them? Are they really good friends, and did Damien leave Juniper solely because of his artistic differences with the producers?

I imagine they'll play separately, perhaps an encore thing together...? I don't think it would change any lisa/vyv details.

one bad thing i'll say bout juniper and bell x1 is that the drumming is really tinny and empty sounding on the cd's

I'm going to this show but I was unaware of how historic you all say it will be. I didn't even know it was the last US night. I've never heard Juniper/Bell X1, and I'm going to the show so I can see Damien and the rest of the band, so I really hope they play seperately. Something in the encore would be cool though. I'll post after the show.

Well Fogerty BellX1 are Juniper without Damien...

Damien started off in a band called Juniper... it was him and his friends from school... he left just as they were getting big and they changed their name to BellX1...

So the show is a kind of reunion. Some of the songs from 'O' are old Juniper songs... Edited by: Wheels

i think bell x1 dont need any more creativity... they have an amazing sound and in my opinion have heaps more creativity and musicianship (especially dave)... i think damien has his voice which is so unique and his lyrics are great but all round his guitar playing isnt out of this world...

I was introduced to Bell X1
through listening to Damo's music, as im sure everyone here (with a few
exceptions im sure) was. To hear that they dont have the same
creativity is rediculous, as you'll all find that alot of the "Damo's"
songs you know and love were writen and originally recorded when
Juniper were still together. Now please dont anybody mention that Damo
wrote them himself and the band (namely Paul) didnt have any input in
them.

Since descovering BellX1, they have become one of my favourite bands.
And i listen to them more than Damien Rice now. I HAVE done, for a
while now. I think they are one of the best bands i've seen live. And
have had the pleasure of seeing them 4 times in the last year. Their
lyrics are as creative as i think you'll find, and each time i see them
live, there is another line/lyric that i hear, that gets stuck in my
head for months. Theres always something new i take from each gig.

I really enjoy listening to Junipers material, as it shows that THEY
(both Paul and Damo) were the poets, then, that we see now, BUT they
have developed into wonderfully talented musicans in the past few years.

And thats not to take anything away from Damo, or his music, which i still love.

i don't feel the same about bell x1, but definately enjoy their work. And i really think it seems like both damien and the bells perform much better on their own than when they were together in juniper. it's like getting two lovely flowers out of one dry little seed, sort of. (cille, stop trying to be poetic!)

I agree. I'm glad they went their
seperate ways, cos they've produced 3 great albums between them. And
both parties have grown from the expierence when in Juniper. </span>

There are so many lines in their
songs that get me thinking. They mix philosophical views on religion,
love with humour, in a way that just keeps me hooked. </span><br style="color: rgb(0, 0, 255);">

from my perspective.. i really can't wait to see what unfolds tomorrow night.. of course it will be Bell X1 opening.. but who knows if damien will come out to play with them.. or.. if members of Bell X1 will come out to play during damien's set.. being that damien had the Fremes this whole tour.. and with Glen playing many encores through many of those shows.. it could be a very memorable night.. i'll have my digi-cam while in second row to caputre any moment that may happen..

Go to their website and login to the 'Front Room' section and you can sample some songs and watch the videos.

You can also hear clips from every song on 'Music In Mouth' on the hmv.co.uk website...

or you could buy their albums @
Amazon.co.uk or from Road Records otr Townsend Records.
