1. Tori Amos, they made a song together and I'd love to hear it live
2. Fiona Apple, would be very intense and powerful
3. this is difficult. maybe with Thom Yorke it could be interesting.

I might change my mind about the third one, but the first 2 definitely.

For myself, I'd love to see/hear Mr.Damien (after hours, of course) sharing a laff and a song with Christy Moore, Todd Snider, and Arlo Guthrie whilst the Guinness or whatever flowed freely. (Note to the tragically impaired & humourless: Guinness & 420 smoke is a "State of Mind", not necessarily a here & now tragedy).
I believe Damien Rice follows a great tradition of Celtic Tale-Spinners. They're very funny touched with a tear and a proud Joy that lives within the Celtic heart, far outside the here and now.
Laugh and sing in the face of the here and now, and live to laugh and sing tomorrow, for the kiddo's coming up. Damien's a frickin' tender sweetheart!
Great topic, thanks!

Damien and Luke Kelly, that would have been some collaboration!

Or, on the folk-line, with her:Palya Bea, the best female singer of my country. (this is the best youtube video of her but isn't purely singing, unfortunately it also has some interviews)

You need to listen to her new album Sermon on Exposition Boulevard if you haven't already, somehow I think it'd fit one of your famous Guiness moments.

^ apparently it's Hegarty, but I can't really stand his voice.

Martha Wainwright could prolly do a nice duet with Damien. She's a sassy vixen on a stage, hubba hubba. *remembering her very short shorts and stillettos from last year's Roskilde festival*

I'd love to lay on a Harmony with the kiddo sometime, on a lost and weary night, in front of a fire, on a big ole comfortable couch with the dogs all asleep at our feet, and the world still, and no one to hear us but the mockingbirds and nightingales and early risin' sparrows. Damiens sweet cello voice and my bass fiddle voice? Yeah, if the dogs didnt run out howling, t'would be a lovely moment.

I would like Damien to work with Kelly Clarkson, it sounds a little bit crazy, but I'm sure they can pull up a great one.

One gets lost in the hither and thither of what color socks should I knit for Damien? (You know?)
Thank you! As I used to say whilst having the musicians in for Open Mic Night on Haight Street, SF: "It is not just for the music you may hear tonight, but for all the artists who wander in with a song in their hearts, and nary a guitar to strum. People, talk to each other!"
EskimoFriends has become a great place to share music of Kind Hearts and Gentle People, thanx to our Kiddo, Mr Damien.
Walk in Peace.
