The Norway session
Damien is acting a little strange I think and Vyv looks like she does not want to be there. Maybe I'm just reading too much into Lisa not being there. By the way, who is the guy playing guitar to Damien's right?

There is a link in the "News" section. Maybe it was only posted there recently.

when he is answering the interviewers questions in the beginning, I got the feeling like he is really pissed off at something or someone...or just really tired haha. It was borderline tough to watch him answer (if you can call it that) her questions. Seemed rude but I don't really care or know. sounded good

but then again, I guess the part that I took notice about him being to only Oslo, I guess he answered it truthfully, just in a funny way, so no harm i guess

I see
Oh really he's been in the band since last year? LOL. I'm a bad fan. Also, Damien obviously has every right to be in a bad mood (if that's even the case) like everybody else in the world. I think I'M just in a bad mood because LH is gone.

"I'll play a stormer, yet in the corner, i'll be grumpy on my like I don't care" see, at least he admits it! Yeah Joel has been around since mid last year I think, he's also the front man for 'Pedestrian' who supported Damien at Vicar Street in august He seems ace, and I like his contribution to the music. At Hammersmith, his parts on the louder tracks like MMY&I really stood out and added to them, and he's also been doing some percussion, banging on boxes and whatnot like a monkey of some sort, sounds awesome! |

I am as sad to see Lisa go as much as anyone on here, but I am trying to look for positives. One thing I will say is that, the 9 crimes from this session sounds really good, and I think Damo can do more with it than he could with Lisa there. I'm not a huge fan of a second guitarist (in any band) but in this song it sounds good. I'm a fan of this 9 Crimes whereas the studio one began to bore me quickly.

I love the extra bit Joel does in the beginning of 9 Crimes, but I think it gets a bit messy when Damien tries to do both his and Lisa's parts at the end... this one just needs Lisa to feel complete for me.
Still, I can't wait to see Damien and the rest of the band in a little over a month! |

Viv looks totally vacant! Love this version of 9 crimes, although agree that he struggles to keep parts going at the end. Cameraman/woman kept poor shane in the dark. How can you chew gum and sing...?!

I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying he's been a more 'permanent' member of the band since mid last year - anyone know any different? x |

"New Guy"
Yeah, Joel was not at the Hiro show and that was the last show I was at. So, I guess that's why I did not recognize him.

Joel Shearer has played on both O and 9 actually, so he's been in the band per se since 2002, he just hasn't played the live shows that's all.

No problem, i'm a fan of Joel's tone, skill and versatility you see!
Ah thank you! Hopefully i should have a cover of Set Fire to the Third Bar by Snow Patrol that i did with my band (sort of). It sucks that myspace only lets you have four songs up at once, i would like to hear more of your songs.

Perhaps I'm showing my age (and turning into my mother), but I really wanted to yank that gum right out of his mouth, and stick it to his forehead!
Other than that - I've seen worse as someone stated above. They seem tired (physically) and I'm sure emotionally as well. I hope everyone heals a bit before they embark on the next leg of the tour. |

Personally i don't see what the fuss is about, they're bound to be tired, but they look fine to me.

I'm still sad that Lisa is gone, but I do admit that on cannonball and 9 crimes I loved the sort of organic feel made by the two guitars. They seem to compliment each other wonderfully, and I also think that Damien seems to sing at his best when he is emotional about something.

Must say I was little worried about the gum... thought he was going to spit it while singing Coconut... LOL, but I agree, it's rude to talk while chewing. And never thought you could sing while chewing... Bad Damien... I felt a little sorry for the woman interviewing him! :P But must say he just made me laugh!
Felt like something was going on... like it was a forced good mood. Cannonball was amazing anyway... and 9 crimes sounded a lot like the demo version on 9 which I like! |

Sorry, silly social conditioning like this really gets on my nerves... Nothing personal of course, I'm just using your point to raise a more general opinion of mine! |

Well, I don't really know... so you are also saying it's not rude to talk while you are eating?
I don't know if it's silly social conditioning but I still think it would have showed a little more respect to sing without chewing a gum... especially because a gum in your mouth doesn't help the quality of your singing in my opinion. |
