this was an absolutely gorgeous session. i love when the whole band plays together unplugged, they sound like a chamber orchestra (vyvienne's cello contributions were unbelievably beautiful) i think damien did have a cold, but his voice sounded amazing and lisa's harmonies were fantastic.. i can see playing this almost as much as 9 itself because it's such a beautiful presentation of the songs.. i hope this is the single version of rootless tree being released here in america, label it alternative version or whatever but i would like to see it released. it changes the whole song for me (in a good way) i liked it before but i really love it now |

Master tapes are something, to consider though. If Damo decides he wants to put that performance out as a live b-side like "The Professor". I'll be so grateful if he does.

This is the sort of quality you could expect from trying to seperate some overdubbed vocals, it doesn't really work. I wouldn't imagine it would ever make it as a B-Side, it's even less likely that anyone could get their hands on the master tapes. The only possibility would be if it were released on one of the Best of KCRW cd's. It's not much of a loss though, something else will come along as the tour progresses. For the time being we'll have to be happy with what we have.

Hook a brotha up. So, what program did you use for that? I have a friend who used to use "Reason" to accomplish all manner of seemingly impossible audio feats. Pretty damned cool. Ever tried it?

It doesn't work well, I'm hanging on to my original version. If Nic's voice gets to you though it might be worth checking out, I personally don't mind the voiceover, it's a minor complaint.

Lisa's rythm...
Hello to you all,
Have you noticed that Lisa looses rythm at the end of "Coconut skins", it's funny to see how she reacts to her "error", "c'est migon" as we say in France ("it's cute"). Appart from that I must say I was pretty proud to notice I've got the same little guitare she uses on "The animals were gone". Plus I smoke the same brand of cigarette, "Virginia". I think I've got more and more chances to marry her... |

I like to download sessions like this so I can watch them in my own time; plus I might use the video to tab out another song.
If you had any interest downloading the video I have uploaded it here: video Steve xo
