This isn't my argument but ^^ what an unpleasant, arrogant post. The undertitle of this board is "Here you can talk about anything to do with Damien Rice". Get over yourself.

"Here you can talk about anything to do with Damien Rice"
well this is a little misleading as you can't actually discuss his private life

I can;t believe older chests has the most votes that is one of my all time favorite songs!!! with like some o fthe most poetic and thoughtful linges. " We all seem to need the help of someone else to mend that shelf of too many books, read me your favorite line" how can you not fall in love with a song as true as that!

This is wearing a little thin actually. Everyone's always going to have their own opinions, but these straw polls just degrade the level of discussion. It's a pisstake on a spectacular level.

And even aside from that, even if it were in the section of the website where this sort of thing is supposed to happen, it's just not worth cluttering up the place with this sort of thing again. There's enough pisstaking and timewasting on the site without having to deal with it multiplied by twelve in the section where the good stuff is supposed to go.

^^ Don't let it get to you Mr.Benn. Judging by the amount of votes, plenty of people approved of your thread.

Should i keep this going?
I hadn't realised it'd been done before. I'm really not saying that any of the songs are in any way or form rubbish. its just a perlonged way of finding out which people see as the favorite.

What I meant were, I don't understand the wrong about this poll? I don't think anyone here dislike any of Damiens songs. I love all songs but I sure have my favourites and think this is one way to find out which one I could not live without! So please i wanna go all the way, and those who don't want to....don't!

If you need some objective facts then here they are;
Firstly, no-one specifically has an issue with anyone else saying that they don't like a particular song, in fact that's exactly what this forum is about. The problem is that polls are the lowest common denominator. It would be far more interesting if you were to have an opinion based thread that allowed people to give weight to their ideas rather then just letting it all be prefaced by some statistics. Secondly, This whole thing is in the wrong place, under normal circumstances it might belong in the Damien Rice section, but having twelve polls one after the other is just taking up space in an area that's supposed to be about valuable news and some well formed opinions which are condensed into a readable and honest dialogue. These polls should ideally be condensed into one thread, in the everything else section, a section which is totally devoted to this sort of thing. Thirdly and least importantly, if you've been here for longer then a month or two you'll realise that it's easy to get tired of these survivor series. They just seem so irrelevant to what the music is all about. If you have an opinion on what's good or bad in the music then that's great, and people will be happy to hear it. But it seems a little disrespectful to think that the quality of the songs can be boiled down to a straw poll that will probably provide about three seconds of intellectual stimulation. And if you hadn't bothered to read that rant, here's a bottom line; as upsetting as I find your poll, you're entitled to have it, but not in this section, and not in twelve threads. One thread in the everything else section won't step on so many toes.

I wasn't saying you were it was the person that said that because i was a new person i had something like the tenth of the right to have an opinion or something like that. I do see where you're coming from. I just thought it would be a good conversation starter. I know it's not the most intellectualy challenging thing in the world but it does give people an option to say there part. For example if their song had the most votes they can say why they think it should stay. Also i have been here for more than three months i just at first didn't join then secondly forgot to even be very regular in my visits so i missed all threads like this.
