For about a week straight, whenever I type www.Eskimofriends.com into my browser, it comes up saying "Page forbidden." Now it's just coming up blank even though it says done. Luckily, I've got the forum bookmarked, so I havn't been locked out. And when I go to the forum.....it'll easily let me go to the front page. Just not if I type the site URL into my browser. Maybe my browser is just mucked up. Has anyone else had this problem lately? ~Matt

Emmett is currently trying to move the site so that it doesn't crash as often. There are a few teething troubles, so the redirection when you type in EskimoFriends is acting up... just use the direct links for the time being and all will be restored to better than ever in no time.

No, that's the problem that Emmett is trying to solve... I think it's something to do with domain masking... but don't ask me what that means
It'll all be perfect soon. |

*Ahem* The Domain Name System or DNS is a system that stores information about host names and domain names on networks, such as the Internet. Most importantly, it provides an IP address (which is a machine readable address, in binary form i.e. 1's and 0's) for each host name (i.e. eskimofriends), and lists the mail exchange servers accepting e-mail for each domain.</span><br style="color: rgb(0, 0, 255);"> <br style="color: rgb(0, 0, 255);"> The DNS forms a vital part of the Internet, because hardware requires IP addresses to perform routing, but humans use host names and domain names, for example in URLs and e-mail addresses.</span> Edit: Also, A mask, also known as a subnet mask, netmask or address mask, is a 32-bit bitmask used to inform routers ( routers </span>forward a data packet toward its destination</span> ) as to how much of an IP address identifies the subnetwork the host is on and how much identifies the host. This is used to make loads of adddress or subnets to apprear to the outside world as one. So the problem lies somewhere in all that! </span> Edited by: daol20

There's a company in Brussels... who are working on turning all the moons of Jupiter into giant computer brains to run the world... the guy in charge of it believes they will eventually decide to wipe us humans out... seems like an odd thing to aim for...

They must work on talking appliances somewhere. They already have a proto fridge that knows what food items were removed from your fridge. My fax machine talks to me. My car can talk to my coffee machine (OK, if I would have dished out the extra $3,000 for that option.) A talking toaster ought to be trivial.I want one that can change color to match the decor and mood and that I can send MP3's to to play music in the kitchen (*thread drift alert* ) |

I saw one great idea on TV... the toaster has a carbon sensor on the top... it can tell if your toast is done by the amount of carbonisation of the bread... the more burned the more carbonised... So you set the carbonisation level you want... not the time or heat or whatever they use now... and your toast never burns! Unless you want it to...

Who stole my designs!!
I had that im my plans, but also, an automatic retinal scan as soon as you entered the room, so it could say hello, and tell you the morning news that your interested in while toasting your toast to the specific way you like it. Also, i though a high speed wi-fi modem on that baby aswell, so you could connect to other toasters via the net from anywhere in the house, not just the kitchen, so you could send your toasting request over the internet. Add more power, Auh Auh Auh (Tim the Toolman Taylor momment!!!) Plus be able to fire Rocket Propelled Grenades aswell. Ya gotta have the RPG's! *Ok, the pills are wearing off!! i gotta go............* </span>
