We all know I had issues with the gig, so we'll not go into that again... Anyway, I did at least get a chance to try out my new recording gear (an iRiver H140 in case you're interested). I was doing a lot of experimenting with it, so I didn't tape a lot of the show, but I'm sure Anthony's copy will make it round for people who want it. Anyway, there's only a couple of complete tracks, so I thought I'd at least put them up for download. I've put them in a new Yahoo briefcase (someone can put them somewhere else too if they like - I don't care)
So, go to http://login.yahoo.com and sign in as: Username: framesavermusic Password: damienrice Then go here: http://uk.f2.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/framesavermusic You have the choice of Woman Like A Man, Prague and Toffeepop (we were a fair distance from the infamous girls, bang centre of the venue, so they're not too intrusive). Hope somebody gets use out of them.

Mics are Shure MX183's, run through an SP-SPSB-6
battery box. H140 set up to record line-in. Recording is a bit quiet when listening to it from the iRiver, but after uploading, volume boost and 'punch and sparkle' eq in Cool Edit, it sounds great. (So much handier than those hiss-filled real-time transfers from MD like I used to have to do, bleurgh). Maybe we'll get increases in recording time, level meters, rec vol change on-the-fly etc with future firmware upgrades, we'll see. Gets my thumbs up anyway - so much more functional than any crappy ipod, that's for sure.

No, I didn't use the 'ext mic' setting for these tracks,
just the plain 'line-in' one that doesn't allow you to change the sensitivity. The battery box puts enough power to the mics to get picked up okay. Like I said, it does need boosted afterwards, but I think it's a lot safer than risking distortion. Haven't really tried using the ext mic setting for loud stuff like gigs yet. Will let you know if I have any success with it.

Mine didn't even start downloading at all. I'm mainly curious what the iRiver recording capabilities sound like.

Ye might want to try and get them again now. One at a time mind. If it's still slow I'll try and put them up on some webspace, or maybe Emmett could stick them on the site...
