What a great concert! I was at the first row, in front of Joel.
At first I thought Damien was 'sad' but during 3rd song he started smiling and all. He said 3 stories : 'Mr. Penis' story, Cheers darlin' story ..and I can't remember what the 3rd story was. Help, anyone? LOL All I can remember from his setlist (and in no particular order) Then go Professor & la fille danse (he was making funny faces during the french part), Woman like a man, Older chests, I remember, volcano, rootless tree, (piano) accidental babies coconut skins me, my yoke and I ________________ vyv's never leave you the blowers daughter cheers' darlin I was quite shocked that he didn't play 9 crimes. Tomo wasn't there again. Does anybody know who was the drummer? He was great. One girl came to the stage and started to dance in front of Damien during I remember (I think). Damo did a funny face like 'WTF?'. I have this part recorded. I hope someone will come and write a better review. My memory is too bad If anybody recorded the show I'd love to get it. LOL @ the girl dancing during I remember... It's something I can't really picture! But I so can picture Damo's face! LOL
The drummer is Brendan Buckley... he is a friend of Joel since he played with him and his band. He is absolutely awesome! And you got Then go... so jelous! |

Yes, that girl's dancing was such a funny moment. The security had to tell her to leave then. lol There was another girl who was waving with an envelope at the 'waiter' during Cheers darlin' ...no idea what was going on. Maybe she wanted to give the letter to Damo or something. funny night, really. Last edited by Mort; 07-23-2007 at 10:24 AM. |

Damn! Why is he never playing "Then Go" when I'm there?
@Chrysler: Are you recording tomorrow's gig as well? Cause that would be grrreat!

I was there and I saw the greatest version of Accidental Babies, Rootless Tree, Then Go and Cheers Darlin' and I'm really asking myself why he isn't recording these songs exactly this way.
It was absolutely awesome...I could never compare this gig with the one in Berlin only a few months ago. (I was also at first row in front of Joel) |

ill try to record. its sometimes quite difficult due to getting past security checks however and recording quality is highly dependend on the acoustics and the tapers skills......so i might mess up.
The Dresden recording seems to have turned out pretty well |

@Chrysler
Could I give you some money to make you sending me those two CDs with the gig? I'm really bad at these torrent things. |

Yes, think it was the opening story to delicate about a situation in which you don't know what to do or something like that. |

The third story was about Delicate indeed, he talked about how good Germans are at recycling, but sometimes you donīt know where to put something or what to do with it, and sometimes this happens with people, thatīs what the song is about.
Vyv came out to the merch stall to sign and answer questions, that was very nice of her, she was really sweet! By the way the whole band and crew was hanging out at the city beach bar thingy on the other side of the road afterwards, watching Damien playing ping pong was priceless! |

I only went to check because one of the crew members mentioned that the band would be there. First I didnīt believe him because the security guy in London was lying when he said that Damien had left the building, but after a while I went to the city beach and they were all there.... He probably went by bike shortly after the concert.... It was lovely and pretty empty, and Shane and Vyv were ordering Caipirinha for all the crew I really enjoyed seeing Damien laughing out loud and having fun, even though he didnīt win the ping pong! I didnīt talk to him very much though, I waited too long and I stuck with the wrong person, Iīm angry about not having seen that earlier, I didnīt listen to my inner voice and as a result it was too late, he was angry (about the person mentioned above) and I didnīt get to ask Damien things I would have liked to know. Everything ended very weird, and Iīm not sure if I wanted to know the things I got to know. Not sure whose version to believe though.
