Thanks for your contribution anyway megomoo - are you thinking of cello or violin? Theres a chance that a may be able to aquire a cello from someone i know and i would so love to learn, but musical expertise is very limited so ive a lot to learn!

hey Petra, i play the cello, and have been doing so for 6 years, its not terribly hard, if you are determined enough you could easily teach yourself the basics with the help of some books , really there is no way to see which instrument is best for you, i think you should just try out each, like hold a violin/viola, and see if you would be comfortable holding it that way, or you can go the easier way, and sit down and play the cello.anywho, if you have anymore cello q's , private message me :O) Cheers, Krystian

I now have my cello and went out and bought a bow yesterday. What a gorgeous instrument. It soundsgood even before i know how to play it! Now i just need to organise a teacher. I wonder if Oli Kraus has an hour or so free each week!!
