Passenger lyrics
I thaught, since we almost figured out the lyrics to 'Brolly Beats' now and since 'Passenger' has been posted as mp3, we could try to transcript the lyrics for that one also...here's what I got so far...
Passenger Walking around Chicago I've you smuggled in my cargo Though you are far away I know it By the time we get to Salt Lake I have packed you in my suitcase And the creases from my own remembering She said burn Oh why She said burn Oh why We’re on our way to Texas And I summon ??? And I send them across ??? ocean In Phoenix, Arizona I had the notion I might phone you But there it lived and died the notion She said burn Oh why I said burn Oh why Oh my ??? Oh my passenger We came up on Ohio I have you chewed on like a biro You are the sum I have no closer to deciphering We came to Minneapolis Oh fizzy blood and twitchy fists I buried you in ??? of snowing She said burn Oh why Oh burn Oh why Oh my ??? Oh my passenger Oh my ??? Oh my passenger

Walking around Chicago and you smuggle in my cargo We’re on our way to Texas And I ??? And I send them across the ??? ocean In Phoenix, Arizona I had the notion I might phone you But there it lived and died the notion

I hear
"the day of snowing" "Oh my sateillite" "I summon ?? hexes" "standt ocean" - There are only 5 oceans in the world so I'm guessing it's an adjective, rather than an actual geographical name. I realise standt is not a real word. |

using the previously posted pieces and vids and these two:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LFJ-TJasMU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5YbM_36x5Q i was able to come up with this (fairly confident) transcription: walking 'round chicago i have smuggled you as cargo though you are far away unknowing by the time we get to salt lake i have packed you in my suitcase iron the creases from my own remembering she said "burn.. oh why" and i said "burn.. oh why" we wound our way to texas and i summoned [rumored?] hexes and i sent them across dust and oceans in phoenix, arizona, i had a notion i might phone ya but there did live then die the notion (but there it lived and died a notion) she said "burn.. oh why?" i said "burn.. oh why?" oh my satellite oh my passenger we came upon ohio i have you chewed on like a biro you are a sum i am no closer to deciphering we came to minneapolis all fizzy blood and twitchy fists i buried you in a day of snowing she said "burn.. oh why?" and i said "burn.. oh why?" oh my satellite oh my passenger oh my satellite oh my passenger that last line i thought was "a gale of snowing" until i listened to this much slower version from belfast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXf8l4q3HVY even with this slower version i'm still not entirely sure that she's saying "rumoured hexes" .. but it'll do for now.. also, in some versions she seems to be singing "but there did live then die the notion" and others she seems to sing "but there it lived and died a notion" .. so i included both. hope that helps! |

Okay pretty sure this is right. (except for the second verse??!!)
Walking ‘round Chicago I have smuggled you as cargo Though you are far away on the wing By the time we get to Salt Lake I have packed you in my suitcase Iron the creases from my own remembering She said burn Oh why? And I said burn Oh why? We wound our way to Texas And I summon rum old hexes(?) And I sent them across the slant oceans(?) In Pheonix Arizona I had the notion I might phone ya But there it lived and died a notion She said burn Oh why? I said burn Oh why? Oh my satellite Oh my passenger We came upon Ohio I have you chewed on like a biro You are a sum I am no closer to deciphering We came to Minneapolis fizzy blood and twitchy fists I buried you in a day of snowing(?) She said burn Oh why? And I said burn Oh why? Oh my satellite Oh my passenger Oh my satellite Oh my passenger. |
