Distortion Pedals
im looking into buying a new distortion pedal as the one that i own (the Boss DS1) isnt really giving me the "kick" that im looking for. I've heard that RAT's are good and im also led to beilve that Damo uses a Marshal Distortion pedal.
So i was wondering if any of you guys had any recommendations to share with me, what distortion pedals do you use? Thanks in advance, if it makes any real difference, i'll be running it along with a Vox Wah.

well, i guess it depends a bit on which distortion you want! a rat is definitely a good choice! and i can recommend an old tubescreamer from ibanez!

What are you qualifying as a distortion pedal?.......just a stomp box, or a processor?, and how much do you want to spend?.......I like the GNX-4
or the Boss GT-8.....I have owned both I feel the GNX is amazing for effects as well as recording to Flash card or to PC through USB and the Boss is unmatched in Effects quality and ease of use (tweaking your sound!) both are around 400-500 USD If you prefer stomp boxes many are "Excellent" choices and offer many unique parameters and by using multiple pedals in any specific order you can gain a "distinctness" to your sound............ I beleive Damien Has like 6 or 7 of the same pedals ran in series to get his sound, as well as many combinations ran through his DL-6 Line selector I hope I have helped.........to confuse you even more!........... Just joking........but really, what do you guys think!?!? |

Rats & DL4
He uses a BOSS line selector to change between different effect loops, I know he has two Rats in his setup but i think one is used to distort vocals (as there os red tape over the knobs to stop the settings from changing between gigs i assume) and the other for guitar. The boss line selector is completely seperate from the Line6 DL4 loop station mentioned in above post! Line6 is actually a brand name. i have a picture of his setup ta home if anyone wants its.
