Ah Arcade Fire. I do believe that 'Wake Up' was the best performance of any song i've ever seen in my life by anyone. Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds did a pretty startling version of 'Stagger Lee' too. What a weekend.

They're actually worth paying money to spend time with. Their live show is so much more alive then any show i've ever seen. It's so refreshing to find out that a band that you like are actually interested in doing what they're supposed to be doing.

I met Richard Reed Parry afterwards in the crowd before The Falming Lips, for such a dynamic guy onstage he's really softly spoken.

aww... still missing electric picnic a few weeks later!!
arcade fire finally usurped sigur rós in 2001 as the best gig i've ever seen. jumped and screamed and burst into tears then fell to the ground and smiled. emo but fantastic |

I thought they were brilliant at electric Picnic but on the tuesday before, i went to see them in Liverpool with my mum!! It was in the Carling Academy, similar size to whelans! And .....OMG.....it was without doubt the best gig i have EVER been to in my life!!!---which hasn't been to long of a life as i'm only 17 but i have been to a bizzilion gigs and that one stood out !!!I We were in the front row and for the entire thing i stood there with my mouth open(it eventually turned into a smile once i got over the initial shock of their amazingness!!!) But seriously....BEST LIVE BAND EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
