Hi, I've recently discovered Damien Rice - after seeing some posters with his name on it during my holiday in Ireland, I saw his name mentioned in several Belgian magazines (I'm from Belgium by the way) and recognized the name. So I checked "O" out, and ... I loved it! Even wrote a little review about it (www.goddeau.com). I hope to see him later on this month in Brussels. greets kailin |

I live near Brussels, so that's the centre of Belgium. Do you know Belgium very well then? Just pronounce my name as you read it - i'm not gonna give a phonetical translation here am i?! |

I don't think so - not in the recordstores anyway- , although he's already playing the 24th of October. I'll go to Botanique next week and get my tickets there - can't wait to see him live with the entire band! Damien has played in Belgium already, though. This summer he played at Pukkelpop-festival and got a lot of attention from the press. So that's good |

Hehehe, i did think it was a bit strange. I didn't know it meant 'girl' in Gaelic though... I'm just very fascinated by languages (especially english, but also gaelic even though i don't understand a thing of it- it's just such a beautiful language to see it written down i think. i can only imagine how you are supposed to pronounce it). But Kailin isn't my real name though, it just seemed easier for English-speaking people than my real name. "An rud is annamh is iontach"Edited by: Kailin |

Tuurlijk, gezellig Tot nu toe vind ik het hier echt wel een leuk forum, interessante mensen met schitterende muzieksmaak PS for non-dutch speakers: I've only said I really like this place and that you all seem to have a great taste in music |

Doolin and Ring of kerry are absolutely brilliant. We were supposed to go to Dingle as well, but due to a silly bloody car crash we had to cancel that I discovered Damien Rice there as well, that's sooo funny!! When walking around in Dublin I saw some posters with his name on it and I saw his name in a magazine as well... |

I was waiting for a bus in Dingle and spend some time at a music-shop. They played the cd Other Voices, which was recorded in Dingle, and I like it a lot. By the time they played no. 14 I was really blown away and asked who this was. It was Damien. Only a few weeks later he had a gig in Paradiso Amsterdam and so I went there with a couple of friends. We were really totally impressed by the concert. After the concert Damien spend some time with us in Amsterdam, that was great and never to forget.

I remember reading somewhere ('cuse my memory - I'm getting old) of somebody who took Damien home for dinner in Amsterdam. I remember that much because I was jealous Ah, and than I thought good on you that you can whip up a vegetarian meal just like that because I couldn't, ha, ha!
